My schedule works well for calm, crate trained dogs who are comfortable relaxing at home between potty breaks and playtime. Guest dogs are kept on their normal routine as much as possible, including feeding times, potty breaks, crate time, and rest. I provide supervised backyard time, a calm home environment, and plenty of attention during evenings and weekends. For longer stays, I ask that dogs are comfortable being crated when needed or relaxing calmly between potty breaks and playtime.

Safety, trust & environment

I keep boarding simple, calm, and supervised. Guest dogs stay inside with us and have access to a large fenced backyard for potty breaks and playtime. I only host one guest dog at a time, which helps keep the environment more relaxed and easier to manage. Dogs are always supervised outside, and I follow the owner’s instructions for feeding, medication, crate routine, and normal daily care. I’m comfortable giving oral medication and caring for adult or senior dogs that need a slower pace or extra patience. I ask that guest dogs are house trained, crate trained, and comfortable around other dogs. My goal is to provide a safe, clean, low stress stay where your dog can relax and stay close to their normal routine.

A typical day

A typical day is calm and simple. Guest dogs get supervised time in the fenced backyard, potty breaks, indoor rest time, and attention and care during evenings and weekends. I try to follow each dog’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding times, crate time, medication, and sleep preferences. Some dogs like playtime and short walks, while others just want a quiet place to relax. I only host one guest dog at a time, so the stay is more personal and not overwhelming. My goal is for your dog to feel safe, comfortable, and settled while you are away.

Cozy Boarding for One Guest Dog🐾

Pet care experience

Large fenced yard 🐾 Hi, I’m Cody. I’ve been around dogs my whole life and have always been comfortable caring for them. I know it can be stressful leaving your dog with someone new, so I try to keep things calm, safe, and simple. I have two dogs of my own and only host one guest dog at a time. This helps keep the stay more relaxed and gives your dog more attention while they are here. We’re in the Irondale area, about 10 to 15 minutes from downtown Birmingham. Our home has a large fully fenced backyard for supervised potty breaks and playtime. Inside, guest dogs can relax in a comfortable home setting and stay close to their normal routine. I’m comfortable caring for adult and senior dogs, especially dogs that do best in a quieter home. I ask that guest dogs are house trained, crate trained, and comfortable around other dogs. Please share feeding instructions, medication details, crate routine, and anything else that helps your dog feel comfortable. I would be happy to care for your pup!

Cody took great care of Fitz! Sent pictures every day and I could tell Fitz had a good time. Would definitely use him again. Cody also included a note and a cute Polaroid picture of Fitz. Much appreciated.

My sweet pup was well taken care of and came home nice and tired after running around in the yard! Cody was very accommodating to my last min request and flexible with changing times. 10/10 recommend!

I recently used Cody to board my boy for a short, out of town trip and will definitely be using again! I was nervous to find a new person after having a long-term sitter but he made it much easier! Cody was great at communicating and providing updates (& photos!). 10/10 would recommend.
