I work mostly remotely, which allows me to be present and attentive throughout the day. My own dog gets three walks a day—totaling about 90 minutes—and we rarely miss one. I’m happy to include your dog in those walks or adjust the schedule based on their energy level and routine. Because I’m home most of the time, I can offer a calm, consistent environment and plenty of attention. I’m flexible and always aim to cater to each dog’s individual needs—whether that means playtime, quiet companionship, or extra potty breaks.

Safety, trust & environment
In my home, pets are treated like family—often even better than the humans! 😄 I live in a spacious two-bedroom apartment, so there’s plenty of room for dogs to feel comfortable and move around freely. Dogs are always welcome on the bed and couches, and I keep fresh water available in every room to make sure they stay hydrated and happy. Whether it’s in my home or yours, I aim to create a calm, cozy environment where each dog feels safe, loved, and completely at ease. I follow any routines or preferences you provide and always pay close attention to each dog’s comfort and well-being.

Information Cody H. would like to know about your pet
I don't have any specific preferences, though I always appreciate knowing any special considerations I should make for your pet, whether it be things I can do to comfort or entertain them, what their normal routine is so that I can try to match it, or things to avoid to keep them calm and happy. Communication is key to ensuring I take the best possible care of your pet.
A typical day
When I’m watching pets, I love to keep them happy, active, and comfortable—so I tailor activities to what they enjoy most. I’m always up for playing with their favorite toys, whether that’s a good game of fetch, tug-of-war with a rope toy, or just tossing around a squeaky ball. I also enjoy hiding small treats around the house or yard for them to sniff out—it’s a fun way to keep their minds engaged and give them a little challenge. If they enjoy walks, I’m happy to take them out for some fresh air and exercise. Car rides and hikes aren't off the table either! And of course, there’s always time for snuggles and belly rubs if that’s their thing! My goal is to make sure they feel loved, entertained, and relaxed while you’re away.

Pet care experience
From fostering dogs with heartworm and post-surgery needs to building trust with the most timid rescues, I've cared for dogs and cats in all kinds of situations. My experience goes far beyond basic sitting — I specialize in understanding each pet’s unique personality and creating an environment where they feel safe, respected, and loved. I’ve grown up with dogs and cats my entire life, and my own rescue pup is proof of what patience and positive reinforcement can do — he went from being truly scared of everything to confident, obedient, and always ready for adventure. I’ve also cared for senior dogs up to 18 years old with dementia and advanced arthritis, requiring 24/7 supervision. Over time, I’ve developed an intuitive approach centered on encouragement, body language awareness, and trust-building. Whether your pet needs extra medical attention, slow introductions, or just someone who truly gets them, I’m here to make sure they’re happy, comfortable, and cared for like my own. I am happy to take requests at nearly any time of day. However, it will be an additional $5 for any visit that requires service after 9pm or before 7am (rates may vary for more extreme times, midnight, 5am, etc.).
Reviews

Cody was incredibly kind to my senior dog. He was attentive, communicative and really easy to work with. I appreciated his willingness to help my family out when we really needed him. From what I could tell, Gus treated him like one of the family, and vice versa. Would highly recommend!

Cody was so friendly and absolutely wonderful to work with! He helped us with a last-minute request, was very responsive and flexible the whole stay, and sent lots of updates! My dog had a great time playing with the other pups! We will definitely use Cody again!

Cody was amazing and our sweet Kona had the best time.

Cody took excellent care of our pup- we would definitely rebook his services again.
