Great with all shapes and sizes

I love all dogs, no matter the shape or size. When I was younger, I never had a dog of my own, but all the dogs in my neighborhood were "mine" when I went to visit them. I love letting dogs snuggle up with me when they're all tuckered out. Unfortunately, I am severely allergic to cats, so I only accept dogs.

Safety, trust & environment

A dog’s safety is my number one priority. During meet and greets, I verify how the owner handles letting the dogs out during the day, whether it’s in a fenced yard or on a leash.

Cobie is a dream sitter! She came over for several meet & greets so our shy, nervous dog could warm up to her. As I knew would happen, they became fast friends and Alice had a wonderful week with Cobie. Communication was great and we felt very secure leaving our pup and home in Cobie’s care. Will definitely rebook!

We've been using Cobie's services for house sitting and drop-in visits for about two years now. She spent a few days with our dogs this weekend and it went perfectly, as usual!

It was a relief knowing Willow was in good hands. I could tell at the meet and greet that they would get along famously! I feel bad that Cobie got the short end of the stick. Willow is terrified of t-storms and fireworks both of which occurred while I was gone! I would definitely request Cobie again should the need arise.

I honestly don’t know where to start with this review because I had anticipated that I would be leaving five stars and requesting your services again for two upcoming vacations. But now your actions and irresponsibility led to one star and this very unpleasant and documented review. When I first met with you a few months ago as a Rover border myself and have a thriving business for 16 years and now needing a local house sitter as there boarder of 12 years who lives in Baltimore was unavailable so it was very important to me to have the right person to care for them. I let you know that I contacted three others and it did not work out so I have a set of questions that I ask. One was what does housesitting look like to you, what is your daily routine, will you be staying the night, will you be leaving during the day, all those things you answered positively and yes I will be staying the night as well as I will be there all day and I said are you sure, do you do drop ins just let know and your response was no I don’t do drop ins when I have housesitting booked. You met my two girls they got along with you and with your other answers I felt comfortable leaving you in my home with you dogs. When you came for the key and the second meeting and greet one day before I was leaving, I reiterated a lot from before and you let me know Oh I started working and I’m doing dropouts. In my head I’m like WTH I’m leaving to go out of the country in 12 hours and you’re just letting me know this. What else was there to say it’s not like I could say im canceling this and try to find another sitter within 12 hours. But you knew what you were doing by waiting until the day before just say something otherwise I definitely would’ve cancelled. I also asked you to not have anyone in my home when you mention a boyfriend and I said absolutely no visitors or any one in my home while I’m gone. I hired you and you only, that means no friends no boyfriend no visits no nothing. I said I’m close with both neighbors on either side of my home and one has a camera that can capture everything right into my backyard. You said OK that’s fine which wasn’t that convincing. I also showed you the wet food, which was fresh pet in the refrigerator that I just bought an hour before you came. I didn’t really have anything else in my refrigerator because you said you didn’t need anything. You would bring your own stuff which was fine. So the only thing in the refrigerator Besides condiments on the door was bottled water and my dog food. I also reiterated that the dog poop needs to be picked up outside as I don’t have a smelly yard as a border. My yard is clean. I pick up dog poop as soon as it’s there. I have tons of dog bags if you come outside when they go to the bathroom You can easily pick up the poop you confirmed yes and I showed you where the dog bag bin was and you said yes I remember from the first meet and greet so you knew to do that. Let’s fast forward to the first night, once I arrive to my destination that evening I hadn’t heard from you. Didn’t know when you came to as I received no notification that you were at my home. When you finally responded, it was short and brief skipping the time that you arrived so I have no idea when you got to my home and how long my dogs were there by themselves. When sending a video of you petty Z, I could see my area rug directly in front of his crate, but you later sent a picture of that same area rug chewed up in his crate. When I asked how did that happen because instructions were to not give him toys in his crate or anything around it. So when you told me that you don’t know how the rug got in front of his crate. That rug was not there when I left home It was in the middle of the floor because I know better than to have any toys in his crate or a rug right in front of his crate. So you had to place the rug in front of his crate because again prior to this review, I looked back at that video and that area rug was perfectly placed evenly write up to his crate. But you said you’d have no idea how it got there or how it got inside of his crate. I told you that Sandy gets really freaked out during thunderstorms as I checked the weather and told you it’s very important for you to be here during those thunderstorms. When you finally replied to that question hours later, you said that she was at the door when you came back because she was really freaking out. Your inability to be there full-time as you told me and promised when we first discussed this to now and I’m checking the times between our conversation and when you replied there was an 11 hour span. Again in my Dog profile, they can be alone for about four hours Not 11. Z as in his profile because he’s a big boy for a puppy. I was clear that he needed to get exercise outside as my other two girls are fine inside and the only one response I got from you was their severe weather and dogs can’t be out more than 15 minutes. So was he out only 15 minutes every single day and then created because also in one of my text to you was that I don’t keep him in a crate all day just at night for bedtime 10pm-6am. He can be outside of the crate in the basement. Your response You don’t understand if I let him out he’s going to chew the rug. I told you to throw that rug in the trashcan after you sent me a picture of it destroyed, but it was also still in the floor when I got home with all the chewed up pieces under it. Now let me get to the thing that had me in tears, when I opened the refrigerator and the brand new bag of pet fresh was in the refrigerator unopened. Again on the day before I left, I asked should I write anything down? You said no all of your information is in the Rover app under their care instructions but once again You were irresponsible by not giving my dogs a complete meal twice a day. I specifically told you that Sandy will not eat anything without the wet food being on top of her dry food. When I asked when I saw the bag unopened, your unconcerned response was sorry forgot about the wet food. Such a short response. So my girls went 7 days without two complete meals and Sandy who I can see clearly she’s lost weight but I guess you were too busy with work an doing other drop in to be responsible for this job. Also my suspicion that you weren’t here on the day or some days based off all my findings including the handle to my sliding glass door was broke that of course you didn’t mention with your excuse was oh I thought I sent that text. Remember those neighbors I told you about. I contacted both of them and they both said the exact same thing. They did not hear or see the dogs outside on Thursday or Friday. My one neighbor to the left said he was outside all day. He was power washing his house and doing yardwork his dog was in his yard when his dogs in his yard and my dogs are outside. They’re always at the gate barking at each other and he thought that was strange that my dogs weren’t outside at all but heard them baking inside. When speaking with my other neighbor she told me the exact same thing they were pretty much in their pool and they did not see my dog’s Thursday or Friday.. They also let me know that there was a day that it was two cars in my driveway and not one. I also let you know that there was barely any water in both water bowls your response was I gave them water. When did you give them water because if you said you were leaving at three, which you never let me know that you left my home/sit ended and I was home at 4:30 there would be water in their water bowls. My dogs do not drink that much water. I usually fill or refill their water bowls every morning and it’s still some water left the next morning. So for it to be a drop or two left in the bowl for just a hour and a half Your response was I gave them water and I thought I had sent a text as to when I left. You said that you were gonna pick up their poop during your time here, but when I came out on the deck I could visually see piles of dog poop, especially Z’s because its bigger. I went outside and I picked up nine piles of dog poop filing seven bags. And when I asked you about it, your response was I picked up poop when I saw it. Let me circle back to when I came home and opened my door. Both of them were shaking, and ran to the deck door to be let out jumping up on the door they had to pee really bad. so again if the time you were supposedly be leavin at 3 PM even though I hadn’t heard from you all day so that meant you weren’t at my house because you hadn’t answered to two inquiries yesterday morning before and after I landed. So that tells me they had not been let out to go to the bathroom at all yesterday because if you left at 3 PM and I got home at 4:30 PM, but you never replied to any of my texts until I started fussing about things I was finding after 5 PM. I cannot begin with words of how disappointed I am. I’ve read reviews on Rover as well as from Rover‘s Facebook group and on Reddit from other dog owners that had a really bad and horrible experiences with Rover dog sitters. And now I’ve been put into that group now that my dogs were neglected while in your care for seven days. I trusted you, I trusted you when you said no ma’am I don’t do drop ins when I’m house sitting, Nope I’m full time here. That answer is what made me hire you. There’s nothing you can ever do or say that will make me trust you or believe what you’ll dispute. I have the evidence here, I have your bland responses as well as the text messages from both my neighbors and pictures that I took, especially my shoes with fresh dog poop from stepping outside, the men’s old spice that you left in the guest bedroom, the rug that you left in the middle of the floor that was all chewed up that I asked you to put in the trash, the bag of dog food that you texted oh sorry you forgot about it in our Rover text conversation. The timelines of your responses in our Rover conversations. I guess the sudden new job along with your all of a sudden drops that you claimed you didn’t lead to my dogs being neglected for 7 days. You said that Sandy spent most of the time under the bed, which is something she does not do but because she was terrified of lightning and thunder had no choice to trust you either. You left her without someone to be around, and she was terrified to the point to where she had nowhere to go but under my bed. That’s not her normal behavior, so when you said all she wants to do is cuddle, it’s because she’s afraid you will leave her alone again. Besides being left in tears, this has caused me to anxiety, anger, guilt for trusting you and more importantly letting my babies down😡 I have no faith whatsoever in hiring anyone to come into my home. I have canceled my other two vacations, I’ve called to file complaint and report with Rovers Trust and Safety Team. Please note that if I could have given you zero stars that would’ve been more deserving than the one you have.

Cobie did an amazing job with our GSP named Bronx. She kept in contact, sent pictures and spoiled our boy. We will definitely be using her again.
