I work from home the majority of the week, so pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. Dogs in my home are not left alone for long stretches and are part of a calm, structured environment throughout the day. My schedule includes regular outdoor time in our fully fenced yard, supervised interaction with my dog Bailey, and consistent feeding and rest routines. I keep my calendar organized around my availability, so I only accept bookings when I can give proper attention and care. Pet care isn’t an afterthought in my week — it’s built into my routine.

Safety, trust & environment

Dogs in my home are welcomed into a calm, free-roam environment. I introduce new dogs thoughtfully so everyone feels comfortable, but once they settle in, they’re treated like part of the household. They’ll have access to a fully fenced 6-foot yard for outdoor time and bathroom breaks, along with relaxed indoor space to rest and move around freely. My goal is for dogs to feel safe, comfortable, and at ease — not confined or stressed. I follow each owner’s care instructions closely, including feeding routines, medications if needed, and any specific preferences. I’m happy to use a crate if a dog is accustomed to one, but I don’t require crating. I also provide updates so owners can feel confident their dog is doing well while they’re away. For drop-ins or daycare, I keep the same steady, attentive approach and respect the dog’s normal routine.

Information Clinton C. would like to know about your pet

Before booking, I like to learn about your dog’s temperament, daily routine, and how they typically do with other dogs. Since I have a resident dog, it’s important that visiting dogs are comfortable in a shared home environment. Please share any history of aggression, anxiety, escape tendencies, excessive barking, or resource guarding. Transparency upfront helps ensure a safe and comfortable stay for everyone. I require a brief meet-and-greet before first-time boarding bookings. This allows the dogs to be introduced properly and gives us both confidence that it’s a good fit. I also appreciate details about feeding schedules, sleep habits, and anything that helps your dog feel at home.

A typical day

Dogs staying with me get regular outdoor time in the fenced yard, playtime appropriate to their energy level, and relaxed time inside as part of the household. I enjoy being outside and moving, so active dogs will get healthy outlets for their energy, while calmer dogs can enjoy a quieter pace. Every dog is different, so I adjust activity to match their personality and routine. My goal is for them to feel comfortable, engaged, and settled — not overstimulated.

Pet care experience

I’ve had at least one dog my entire adult life and grew up with dogs in the home. I’ve raised six dogs from puppy stage through adulthood and have experience with everything from high-energy working breeds (including cattle dogs and Jack Russell Terriers) to multi-dog households. I’ve handled medications, senior dogs, separation anxiety, slow introductions, and basic behavioral challenges. I’ve also worked with professional trainers over the years and have trained all of my own dogs to be well-mannered and structured in the home. In addition to owning my own dogs, I’ve fostered for a volunteer organization and have cared for friends’ dogs in my home. I’m comfortable managing multiple dogs at a time, but I prioritize calm energy, structure, and safety. I’m best suited for well-behaved dogs that do well in a balanced home environment.

Clinton did an excellent job caring for my dog Colt. I was away for over two weeks, and had total peace of mind knowing Colt was in good hands. Clinton sent photos every day with updates on how things were going. Colt had a vacation himself, playing ball and hanging out with other dogs. I highly recommend Clinton as an experienced and attentive sitter for your treasured pets.
