Veterinary Assistant and Zookeeper!
I have a degree in Zoology and Animal Science from North Carolina State University. I graduated school to train as a zookeeper and received a degree in Zoo Science Technology. I worked at the North Carolina Zoo for several years as zookeeper in their Swamp, Desert and Aviary sections. I have been certified in Wildlife Rehab and as a Veterinary Assistant in separate college courses. I have been taught animal training techniques and studied behavior. I now work in an office closer to my home and get my animal fix through Rover! I have worked at two separate veterinary clinics taking care of animals including dogs of all sizes and ages and plenty of cats, too. For two years, I worked at a doggy day care in Raleigh supervising large groups of dogs during play times and taking care of boarding pets. Previously I have interned with SciWorks in Winston-Salem, Zoo Knoxville, and the Greensboro Science Center all working with a variety of wild animals. I work Monday through Thursday so have open availability on weekends.

We really can’t say enough good things about our experience with Claudia! We have seven animals and a couple have some special needs. She took the time to come a few times before our trip to practice medicating our diabetic cat and to meet and hang out with the other animals. During the trip she was consistent with updates, medication, feeding times and communication. She reached out with questions and to verify instructions. When we returned everyone was happy and well and I’m pretty sure they didn’t want Claudia to leave. We will absolutely book with her again!

Claudia did an amazing job at taking care of our cat. She came in twice a day during the holiday season and made sure our cat had some company. We can tell she loves animals and went above and beyond, reflecting her passion for animals. We will definitely rebook when the need arises.
Claudia was so wonderful in caring for my cat while I was away! She kept me updated daily with plenty of pictures and anything out of the ordinary she noticed. Would highly recommend!
