Safety, trust & environment

I am very particular about the care of the pet's I am watching. I know a lot about dog psychology and behavior, so I like to make sure they are comfortable, mentally & physically stimulated, and always safe. I like to make sure that pets get plenty of physical and mental stimulation (as the owner and dog's capabilities allow) and are always in a secure environment. I am also very cautious about leaving the home the way that I found it, so pets aren't getting into anything when I am not there or in spaces they shouldn't be.

Information Claudia M. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if your dog has any special needs or behaviors I should be aware of! I can handle any type of dog, but it's always best to know what you're walking into! I train dogs and do a ton of behavior modification with aggressive, fearful, and anxious dogs - so don't be afraid to tell me anything. I won't turn you away!

A typical day

A typical day with me involves learning, playing, and rest times. I love to make sure a pup is always learning, but always having fun while doing so! When you let a dog go on a "sniffari" they are learning about their environment and it is exciting and fun for them. Having manners before eating or going outside are always a great way to reinforce good habits and stimulate their brain. I am also a HUGE fan of snuggles, so anytime they want to be scratched, snuggled, or kissed I am always ready! I know some dogs are more independent and that's great, too. We can play fetch, take long walks, or enjoy some sun bathing. I know each dog is different, so whatever makes your pup happy is what we'll do!

Pet care experience

I have been working with dogs for almost 20 years now in many different capacities. I have worked in kennels, have experience with dog walking and sitting, worked in pet retail, and own a business doing training, dog walking, and pet sitting! I have fostered many dogs with many different rescues. I own 3 dogs (a belgian malinois, a Rottweiler, and a havanese mix), 2 cats, and a bearded dragon (so i'm ok with reptiles as well!) I love all animals and working with them is my passion and my dream career! I would also love to work with any small animals because I don't have any anymore and I miss them! (i.e. rabbits, chinchillas, hamsters, lizards, etc.) I do try to keep Rover updated as much as possible, but this is not my main way of reaching clients, so check out my website for more info. Google The Model Canine.

Claudia is great!! Our dog, Winnie, is especially wary of new people and can be quite intimidated when they come through the door. Claudia took her time with our nervous gal, and quickly and successfully leashed her up and got her outside. She even noticed that Winnie seems more at ease with new people outside and spent some time sitting outside in the shade with her! It is so nice to know that someone will consider your pets as much as she does, and I am so appreciative of her care for our dog! She was also very punctual and kept us updated with pictures!

We are very happy that we found Claudia to pet sit. She took good care of the dogs. We got upates and she checked with us about anything that was different such as one of our dogs limping. We will be using her again.
