About Clare S.
Communication
Dog skills
Safety, trust & environment
I have DBS clearance and a clean full driving licence. I can transport your dog/s in my van, secured with a seatbelt lead, or drive your vehicle, whichever you prefer. Please get in touch to discuss additional requirements. If you have more than one dog/cat/horse/donkey etc please get in touch to discuss rates. Please note that due to previous experiences I now insist on meet and greet beforehand to check the suitability of our match.
Information Clare S. would like to know about your pet
The more I know about your dog, the better. The idea is that I will care for your dog just as you do, in your own home, to provide a seamless transition whilst you go on holiday so that it is a stressfree experience for them and you! Please do tell me about their needs, preferences, idiosyncrasies, what commands you use, how they get on with other dogs/cats, what they are scared of/don't like. Non smoking homes only please. Due to current situation a fuel supplement will be needed for visits beyond my 20 minute radius.
A typical day
Most dogs prefer two walks a day but sometimes when the weather is good there is nothing better than going exploring, taking the bus, walking for 3-4 hours, stopping for lunch at a cafe, so please say if your dog is not up for this. I love walking on beaches, coastal paths, in woods, across commons, along rivers. My preference is to walk off lead so that they can have plenty of sniffs and go at their own pace, so my aim would be to gradually build up trust and recall to enable this. If you would prefer your dog to stay on the lead, please say so.

Mature professional housesitter seeks dogs to love
Pet care experience
After my doodle and terrier died in old age I really missed them so decided that housesitting would be the perfect way to compensate for cuddles and walks. I have always had dogs, all sorts from terriers to collies, usually with troubled backgrounds requiring rehabilitation, socialising and training. I have volunteered for the Cinnamon Trust for about 15 years, both fostering and walking dogs for the housebound. More recently I have undertaken many housesits with Trustedhousesitters. Animal experience extends to horses, through riding, driving, owning and loaning, also chickens and cows on my sister's dairy farm.
Reviews
We are very, very pleased we found Clare. She was exactly the sort of person we wanted and nothing was too much trouble. She had a great affinity with our dog and we wouldn't hesitate to use her again when we next come down to Cornwall.

Clare was easy to communicate with and Milo loved her. Clare was prompt and spent time when visiting. Will use again for sure

Clare was an amazing & understanding sitter for our dog, with lots of walks and photos sent through to us. This was our first time using a sitter and was a really great experience - thank you Clare

Really lovely person, looked after my pets really well. Brilliant 10/10 ✨
