Clare has been around Airedales -- large, energetic, head-strong dogs, since she was three days old. She has walked them, bathed them, groomed them, and cared for them in every possible way. She is loving toward them -- and all dogs that she has encountered in her boarding school, in the neighborhood, on vacations, at the houses of friends and classmates -- and also understands what it means to be responsible for a dog: how a dog interacts (or should not interact) with humans, other dogs, how to anticipate situations that allow the dog to relax and play, and ones that create anxiety. It is difficult to imagine someone who is more mature, responsible and experienced.
