Safety, trust & environment

Your small dog will enjoy a calm, cozy environment with plenty of space to relax and play. My own dog has full access to the house and loves lounging in his donut bed or playing with his toys. For visiting pups, I use baby gates to gently guide their movement and keep them safe while they explore. I have a large, fully fenced yard that’s sealed to prevent escape artists—perfect for supervised outdoor time and relaxed walkies. Inside, dogs can enjoy soft beds, toys, and quiet corners, including the sofa for rest. I keep the space clean, secure, and tailored to the needs of small dogs who thrive on attention, routine, and gentle stimulation. Whether your pup loves snuggles, playtime, or peaceful naps, they’ll feel right at home here.

Information Clara V. would like to know about your pet

To help me tailor the best experience for your pup, please share anything important about their needs ahead of time. Let me know if they have any allergies—especially to food or treats—or if they experience anxiety or fear around certain sounds, environments, or situations. If your pup enjoys fresh treats like apples, bananas, or liver cookies, I’m happy to include those (with your approval). You’re also welcome to bring their preferred snacks, or let me know if they’re on a no-treat diet. If they require medication, extra rest, or have any special routines, I’ll gladly accommodate. My goal is to make their stay safe, soothing, and joyfully personalized.

A typical day

We’ll enjoy walks in my quiet neighborhood, and—with your okay—occasional outings to nearby parks that suit your pup’s size and temperament. Shannon Park in Dublin and Moller Park in Pleasanton are ideal for small dogs under 16 lbs—peaceful, scenic, and perfect for gentle strolls. Athan Downs Park in San Ramon offers a mix of dog sizes, but I always keep the little ones with their own kind for comfort and safety. My own Shih Tzu especially loves Athan Downs—not just for the open space, but for the lively atmosphere. From a safe distance, he enjoys watching kids play soccer and baseball, soaking in the sounds and cheerful energy. If you’re comfortable with park visits, I’ll make sure your pup gets plenty of fresh air, exercise, and sensory enrichment—sniffing flowers, trees, and grassy paths. We’ll mix in playful commands like “hop,” “fetch,” “turn,” and “stay,” along with toys to keep their minds engaged. When they’re ready to wind down, they’ll relax on a cozy bed or curl up on my lap for a well-earned snooze. On hot days, we’ll walk early or late to stay cool, and enjoy indoor play and rest. In mild weather, we’ll balance outdoor adventures with peaceful indoor time.

Loving Care for Small Dogs 🧡

Pet care experience

Hi, I’m Clara, and caring for small dogs is one of my greatest joys. Over the years, I’ve looked after a variety of breeds—Maltese, Chihuahuas, Pomeranians, Dachshunds, Jack Russells, Pugs, Yorkies, and more. I love getting to know each dog’s personality and making them feel safe, loved, and engaged. I am currently caring for just one dog at a time, so each pup gets my full attention in a calm, low-stress environment. I share my home with my 4-year-old Shih Tzu, whom I absolutely adore. He’s active, gentle, and playful—just as happy relaxing as he is romping around. His friendly nature helps visiting pups settle in quickly and feel at ease. I specialize in small dogs up to approximately 25 lbs. Rover doesn’t offer a category for this range, so I’m listed under the 40 lbs category by default. If your dog is approximately 25 lbs—and has a gentle temperament with smaller dogs, feel free to reach out. I work from home and plan my schedule around the dogs in my care. That means plenty of time for walks, playtime, cuddles, and mental stimulation throughout the day. In my home, dogs are family. They’re welcome to curl up on the couch, nap in sunny spots, and be part of the daily rhythm—just like they would with you. Whether your dog is energetic or prefers quiet snuggles, I provide one-on-one care and a peaceful routine tailored to their needs. My goal is to make every stay cozy and stress-free—for both you and your pup. To help keep all dogs happy and healthy, I ask that your pup is current on vaccinations—including Bordetella—before their stay. I’d love to welcome your little one into a cozy, calm, and custom-tailored experience—feel free to reach out, and let’s plan a meet-and-greet

Clara took amazing care of our beagle, Daisy. She was communicative, reliable, and sent updates that gave us peace of mind while we were away. Daisy came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. We would absolutely trust Clara to watch her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great pet sitter! 🐾💕

Clara is the best! We boarded our tri Cavalier for 10 days with her. She took the best care of him and sent pictures and updates throughout his stay. Clara and her dog Diego were the best hosts. Won’t hesitate to rebook with her next time.
