I work 8-5 during the weekdays, two of which I work from home so I have some flexibility when it comes to my schedule. However, I am fully available on weekends unless stated otherwise on my calendar.

In my home dogs will be treated like part of the family, given lots of love hugs and attention but still discipline when needed. I like to provide each with a safe space using soft furnishings or a crate if possible so they can retreate of needed. Usually I will crate dogs at night or if I leave the house, which is not often. They are fed and walked (for at least 30 minutes) twice a day, once in the morning and once at night with their regular food. Water is, of course, constantly available and the back door to the garden is open whenever possible. Though I should note that I let dogs out at least once every 2 hours so they can do their business and if a garden is not available then I would take the dog out on the lead outside. In regards to discipline, I usually prefer the carrot over the stick, rewarding dogs when they have done well with first treats and later just a clicker or toy. However if punishment is necessary I would only ever tap the dog on the nose and state a firm no, hitting is never required. For example, if the dog has urinated in the house, I would sharply tap them on the nose, state no, putting their nose in their urine and then simply place them where they need to be - usually outside or on a toilet training area (e.g. newspaper). In regards to safety while walking, I would either use a harness or collar and a non-extendable lead. A dog would not be left off a lead until I have walked with them at least 5 times and built a relationship with them to avoid the dog running off or back home. I usually go to a green area nearby when walking the dogs and like to let them run around wherever possible in the garden, often leaving the door open so they can run in and out. I do of course recognise that all owners have different methods for providing a home for their furry pet so I would defer to whatever rules are already in place with whomever I am hired by.

Its important for me that I can give the best possible care to your dog. To do so I require a few bits of information - their age, sex and size. It would also be ideal if you could tell me how frequently they expect walks/toilet breaks and whether there any aspects of their daily routine that cannot be changed. Importantly, please let me know if your dog has any medication or specific treatments they require.

With dogs that I watch, walks would typically consist of a stroll through the local woods or park. There is a winding path for dogs with limited mobility and a large green open space with plenty of room for them to run around. I usually take some kind of toy or ball to take full advantage of the space and let your dog wear off some energy. I would follow the walk with a treat and some fuss before sorting out the daily nosh. For those dogs that I stay with or stay with me, the day inside will be a mixture of letting them sit on my lap as I'm working and playing with their toy of choice. I would try to keep them company the whole day, keeping their spirits up until their families join them again.

Experiencia en el cuidado de mascotas
My experience working with dogs is extensive, having had them as pets for 20 years of my life. At my childhood home we have 3 dogs and 1 cat in the house- so an absolute a madhouse! I have been relied on to walk, feed and bathe the dogs under my care and have house sat multiple friends and family pets. I specialise in the care of small-medium size dogs as this is where my experience lies but I would be happy to look after larger dogs if you don't mind the occasional foray onto google. I have also looked after a dog with epilepsy so i have experience giving regular and emergency medication when necessary. I have looked after 4 litters of puppies and a litter of kittens, toilet training them and teaching basic skills such as sit, fetch and return. We even had to bottle feed one litter of puppies as the mother was not producing milk so I understand the full time care and responsibility that owners require to keep their pets safe and happy.

Clara was great with the dogs and even managed to coax my very nervous one to relax and say hello. Her skill with dogs is obvious from the outset, she has a great vibe with them and knows how to work on their terms. I felt very at ease going away for the night, and she sent me lots of lovely pictures of them chilling for the evening. Would be very happy to book Clara again

If I could leave 10 ⭐️ stars I would! Clara was absolutely amazing with Max and Chloe! Highly recommend!!! Thank you so much! 🙏☺️

Clara’s great! She was very responsive and flexible right from the start. We had an initial chat over zoom then went over our dog’s care and routine when she arrived. Clara was really attentive and respectful of our wishes and our home, very easy to chat to and lovely with our dog. We felt very confident leaving both him with her.
