Safety, trust & environment
My first and foremost priority is your pets well being! That means fresh water (and food if needed), a potty break, and socialization time (like playing and cuddling) will be given priority when visiting your pup. Any outside time in fenced yards will be strictly under supervision. Non-fenced yards, any outside time will be on leash on a well fitted collar or harness.
Information Claire T. would like to know about your pet
I am more than happy to work with dogs with special behavioral needs (reactive, fearful, excitable). Please let me know if any of these apply to your dog, or if your dog has any allergies or sensitivities to food.
A typical day
I love giving dogs lots of opportunities to sniff and explore on walks, since it's incredibly enriching for them. I also love to practice loose leash walking, tricks, and nice behavior, all for a reward of course!

Certified Professional Dog Trainer
Pet care experience
I'm professionally employed as an R+ dog trainer with my CPDT-KA certification. I have had cats and dogs my entire life. I currently have a 2 year old Australian Shepherd I train and compete with in Rally, Scent Work, Rally, Tricks, and Conformation. I started cat sitting for others around seven years ago. I volunteered at a local animal shelter taking care of the dogs there until the pandemic hit. This includes socializing (read cuddling and playing), walking, basic obedience training, and preparing enrichment activities. I love to play and hang out with cats and dogs of all ages, sizes, and activity levels. I would love to get to know your pet better!
Reviews

We know our dog Charlie is in good hands with Claire. We appreciate her great communication and dog handling skills and her ample experience with dogs and dog training gives us piece of mind.
Claire is one of the most knowledgeable caregivers I know and has been an essential part of caring for our dog. He’s an anxious rescue with strong guarding instincts, but Claire always knows what to do. Whether it’s basic skills or responding to new behaviors, her advice and training helps us provide the security and structure our dog needs. In both work and play, Claire goes above and beyond to ensure that the dogs she works with are happy and healthy. If you need someone who can respond to your dog’s individual needs, I highly recommend her.
Claire has been an animal lover all her life. Claire has been walking our dog all her life and has been a pet sitter when we are out of town for our two cats and the dog. Animals really love her.
