Pet care is a dedicated part of my routine. I maintain a flexible, well-planned schedule that allows me to provide consistent, timely care for each pet. I currently care for a high-energy Shiba who requires 3–4 hours of daily activity and multiple outdoor breaks throughout the day. Because of this, I am committed to going out in most weather conditions and do not skip walks or bathroom breaks. In colder weather, I also adapt by using indoor environments like pet-friendly stores to maintain engagement. This routine allows me to confidently manage active dogs while ensuring structure, exercise, and balance throughout the day.

Safety, trust & environment
I prioritize a calm, structured, and closely supervised environment. I rescued and nursed my first Shiba Inu from just 10–15 days old, and raised a German Shepherd who grew up alongside him about a year apart, giving me hands-on experience with different breeds, temperaments, and developmental stages. In addition, I have experience working with horses and caring for large aquatic species such as arowana (“dragon fish”), which has strengthened my awareness of animal behavior, environmental needs, and attentive, consistent care. My current dog is well socialized with both large and small dogs and demonstrates the ability to adjust his play style, pace, and energy appropriately to match each dog’s size and temperament. He has a calm, confident temperament that can help younger or more reserved dogs feel more comfortable in new environments. Due to his high prey drive, I use multiple GPS trackers and a vibration recall device as added safety measures, which reflects my proactive and safety-first approach to pet care. For safety, I provide constant supervision and do not leave dogs unattended together. I prioritize controlled introductions, close monitoring, and adjust interactions based on each dog’s individual comfort level and pace. I offer a secure environment with access to a fenced backyard in the north suburbs, as well as safe outdoor options in the southwest suburbs, including enclosed dog park spaces. Note:💉 For the comfort and well-being of all pets in my care, I kindly ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccinations before booking, including Rabies and DHPP/DAPP (Distemper, Hepatitis/Adenovirus, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza). Bordetella is especially appreciated for boarding and daycare, since it helps reduce the risk of kennel cough in social environments. In busy periods, I may prioritize dogs who are fully up to date on Bordetella to help keep the group environment as safe and healthy as possible. If you’re unsure about your dog’s vaccination status, feel free to reach out anytime—I’m happy to help

Pet care experience
Hi! 😊 I offer a calm, attentive, home-style boarding experience where your dog is treated like family—not just a guest. I intentionally keep bookings limited so each dog receives plenty of individual attention, structured walks, enrichment, and care tailored to their needs. I care for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. Whether your dog enjoys playtime, mental stimulation, or simply relaxing in a low-stress environment, I adjust my care to help them feel comfortable and at home. For safety and comfort, dogs are kept separate by default. If you're comfortable with social interaction, please let me know. I carefully evaluate compatibility before introducing dogs, and all playtime is closely supervised. You'll receive regular photo updates, and I'm happy to accommodate routines, preferences, and special requests to make your dog's stay as comfortable as possible. 🐾 Health & Safety To help maintain a safe and healthy environment, I accept dogs who are up to date on core vaccinations, including Rabies and DHPP/DAPP. Bordetella is strongly encouraged for boarding and daycare. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out—I'm happy to help.

Reviews

Great experience learning about my dog with Claire’s expertise.

Once again, our dog’s stay with Claire was fantastic. She is very responsive to our messages and we know he is happy when he’s there.

Claire did amazing with our 8 mo puppy. Claire is very calm, experienced, and caring. Besides taking good care of our pup, Sage also came home with a new skill I hadn’t been able to teach. Claire had a great assessment of Sage, and was able to meet her on her level. We already have future dates swith Claire cheduled.

Claire was communicative, patient and welcoming with our puppy. We trust her very much!
