We work from home with Fridays off every week. Our dog takes at least one long walk a day with plenty of play time outside if weather allows. In order to keep your pet exercised and happy, we expect good leash behavior and the ability to respond to basic commands- or at least be able to listen to "no" to make all of our lives less stressful!

We lavish all our boarders with the same attention, snuggles, and exercise-balanced treats that our pets love. Since our cats have been part of the family the longest, your dog will need to be able to refrain from chasing them, so they can enjoy all their usual nap spots. While we love a guest, the safety and happiness of our full time residents is non-negotiable. We crate for sleeping so your pet can have a "home base" and not get up to trouble in an unfamiliar environment. We are happy to share Rascal's food, but if your dog has a sensitive stomach or a special diet, then they will need to bring their own food. We also expect them to arrive with their own leash, collar (with ID tag), crate or carrier for sleeping, and any toys, blankets, or other comfort items that smell like home to relax them and set them up for success during their stay with us. We can't wait to love on your pet!

Our cats are skittish and will run away, so please be honest with us and yourself if that will be a problem. The cats live here full time and deserve to be safe and comfortable in their own home, so we ask that dogs who will chase them find other boarding accommodations or book us for house sitting/drop-in visits instead. Our toddler has never met an animal she didn't love, and she does not understand that the affection is not always mutual. If your pet prefers to be left alone by children, this is not the place for them. We are working hard on teaching our daughter that some people and animals prefer space, but in the meantime for the mental health of your pet and the physical safety of our child please make sure an animal that boards with us is fine with lots of attention from people of all sizes
A typical day
Our dog usually walks several miles a day to provide all of us with some exercise and Vitamin D as a work break, and we will take yours along too! We typically stroll through our neighborhood or Hitchcock woods on a leash. Rascal will chase a ball in our yard for as many hours as we can spare from work and chores, and our visitors love to join in or take the opportunity for a nap on the sunny porch

Our 2-acre property has a fenced yard for constantly-available playtime and direct access to Hitchcock Woods for the dogs who love to hike! We have a high energy dog, two cats, and a toddler who looooves to pet and play with animals, so party pets only!
