Pet care experience

Private Pet Retreat

Welcome to Claire’s Country Pet Care LLC! I offer personalized home boarding for dogs and cats on nearly 2.5 fully fenced acres, where every pet is cared for like part of the family. Because I intentionally welcome only one or two families at a time, each guest gets plenty of one on one attention in a calm, structured environment. I have experience caring for puppies, kittens, seniors, anxious pets, rescues, and pets with medications or special routines. Whether your pet is staying for one night or a few weeks, my goal is for them to feel safe, comfortable, and truly at home. Pet care is my full time career, so I’m home throughout the day to provide lots of supervision, exercise, enrichment, and of course, regular photo and video updates so you can see how they’re doing while you’re away.

Doggy Day Care • Jul 15, 2026

I have used Rover’s all over the country as we travel in our RV. I have a 10 month old Aussie doodle. I researched care in the Flagstaff area so we could go golfing. I chose Clare for daycare because of her reviews and the fact that she had a dog that looked like a good fit for my pup to play with. Started communicating with Clare and requested a meet and greet. I was told that she does not do meet and greets for daycare. I decided to move forward with the daycare because of the reviews. We had some back-and-forth about drop off times and the next morning, I dropped my puppy off with her husband. I was pretty persistent about wanting to see where my dog would be. I was shown a nice, air-conditioned kennel, type situation with a doggie door to the outside. I was concerned that my dog would be stuck in there all day, but was assured that wasn’t the case. I did leave my dog with them. Went about our day and we finished golfing a little early. We had set up a 5 PM pick up time. I messaged her that we would be a little early and was told I could not pick up my dog until 5 PM. After a few messages back-and-forth, I was told she would make an exception this time and usually I would be subject to a schedule change fee for picking up early. Keep in mind that she’s already charging $75 a day. In conclusion, this just wasn’t a good fit for us because of: 1. Extremely regimented drop off and pick up times. 2. No meet and greet for daycare. 3. No contact with their personal dog. 4. Subject to “schedule change fee“ if picking up early. As previously stated, this just was not a good fit for us.

Claire provided excellent care for Barney while I was out of town. She was attentive and gave updates with some great pictures! I also appreciate the little thank you note with a Polaroid of Barney when I picked him up.

Rooney just came home from a week with Claire- happy, healthy and a liitle tired. Claire gives just the right amount of contact to pet parents and obviously cares about her charges. Another great stay with Claire; it won't be his last.

Before your pet’s stay, I’d love to know about their daily routine, feeding schedule, medications, allergies, energy level, favorite activities, and anything that helps them feel comfortable. The more I know ahead of time, the better I can make their stay feel familiar and enjoyable.
