dog sitter in rural Ottawa
We are a dog loving family living 30 minutes from downtown Ottawa. We have a rescue lab/boarder collie cross that just loves playing but also respects dogs that may not want to wrestle and will give them space. We live in rural Ottawa with a large yard. I like to take my dog to the dog park or off leash trails but also make use of the nearby trails that are within walking distance of the house. My dog was originally crate trained but does not use it anymore, so I can accommodate dogs that do or don’t use them. I’ve had experience with various dogs including training puppies. I can assure you that your dog will be treated like part of the family and will be given lots of outdoor playtime and snuggles. Looking forward to hearing from you!

We had such a great experience with Clair! Kona stayed at her home for a full week while we were away, and it gave us so much peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands. She made sure Kona got lots of exercise with frequent off-leash walks, which she absolutely loved. We also really appreciated the daily updates and photos. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with Clair again!
This is the second time our fur baby has stayed with Claire. It’s clear she truly cares for the dogs she looks after. Our pup is relaxed, happy and very well looked after. Our dog has a few special needs given her age that Claire happily takes care of. We love the regular updates that include pics or short videos. Claire’s dog is very friendly and a great companion to any visiting dogs. We have no hesitation recommending Claire!
Clair is amazing and took great care of my golden both times we brought him over, we will definitely request her services again when we travel! Her communication is quick and efficient and I loved receiving the daily photo updates to see how my dog was doing! 😊

Clair was amazing. Our dog received many walks with multiple photo updates over the course of the boarding. When I picked up my dog he was happy to see me, but not nearly as happy as I expected. I think he fell in love with Clair, her family, and the surroundings. It’s was worth the trek out to Osgoode from Orleans :)
Clair was so caring and made sure our pup didn’t have a chance to miss us. Lots of pictures of him living his best life on his puppy vacation. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Clair’s home for a stay!

Schedule
I work from home part-time and normally take my dog out for a morning run/walk/play and then again in the evening. My husband is home during the day and also helps care for your pets if I’m not at home. If it’s warm, I will take her to the river for a swim which is a 5 minute drive.

Safety, trust & environment
My yard is fenced and I normally accompany them when playing in the yard. I don’t normally take a lot of dogs at one time. During meals, dogs are fed separately to ensure safety. My top priority is the safety and security of your pet.

A typical day
A typical day includes an 5km off leash trail walk. If your dog is less active, I can easily adjust to allow for shorter walks or on leash walks - just let me know what works best! Lots of toys are available and a doggy pool for hot days. We also will often go swimming at the river when it’s too hot for long walks.
