I treat your home like it’s sacred - I don’t touch anything that’s not directly related to properly caring for your pet. I’m also very neat so expect me to thoroughly clean up after myself and your pet.

Information CJ G. would like to know about your pet

I prefer it when owners are upfront about their pets' needs and quirks so I can prepare ahead of time so I can interact with them effectively.

A typical day

Brain games can be as effective in burning off energy in both dogs and cats. Challenging a dog by teaching it new games and tricks can be fun and exciting to dogs. A good, long walk works, too. Finding fun way for cats to express their inner hunter is very effective in reducing boredom from being alone.

Pet care experience

As the former Education Director at a local No-Kill Animal Shelter, I met with pets and animal lovers all over the Coachella Valley, providing training in effective, but compassionate pet handling. I have worked with all types of animals, and I love and respect them all, but I have a deep love of timid and fearful dogs. It’s very gratifying working with frightened animals and helping them to develop their confidence. I also have expertise in special needs pets, including elderly pets, pets with fear issues and post-surgery pets. I am mature, responsible and am singularly focused on giving your pet the time and attention it deserves. Let’s arrange for me to meet with your pet today.

I highly recommend CJ to take care of your pet!!! I was nervous to hire a pet sitter for my blind and deaf 19 year old Chihuahua but the minute CJ gently introduced herself to my little Walter I knew she was the right person because he immediately sat at her feet and waged his tail. Animals are great judges of character so her calm demeanor and longtime experience with animals make CJ a great pet sitter/trainer.

CJ has been such a gift to me and Frida!! I was a vet tech for 15 years and (even with lots of training) my dog can be reactive, so I was extremely thorough when choosing a dog sitter. Frida is a highly intelligent Malinois mix (think police dog) and has to trust people to let them in the door, especially if I’m not home. I am also admittedly an anxious dog owner and work hard to make sure my baby has only the best. I chose CJ because she has extensive background in dog training, and in teaching people how to work with animals. That history plus her genuine, kind and flexible nature in our communications made her an easy choice. All that said, I have to be away very long days and still was nervous to leave Frida so long. CJ eased my mind by checking in right away on arrival, and sending me updates and sweet pics. CJ is smart and intuitive in working with my tricky pup, and I fully trust her with my best friend when I have to be away. Frida let her right in and loves her! AND, as a bonus, I feel comfortable with her walking Frida and sharpening up her training. This is a huge deal as Frida is an advanced-level dog in regard to her reactivity and there are lots of other dogs in this area. I’ve never let anyone else walk her beside myself, but I foresee letting CJ walk her…once they get further acquainted and the weather cools off enough to allow for it. This is a huge endorsement from an ex vet tech helicopter mom of a large reactive dog!! I HIGHLY recommend CJ. She is the only dog sitter I will be using while living in this area. Don’t look any further. CJ is the best. Frida agrees 🐾💜

CJ has been amazing with my dog. He is very uncomfortable around new people and can be difficult to work with. CJ is very understanding of this and handles it well. CJ is very aware of what my dog is experiencing and is careful not to push him when he is exhibiting extreme fear -- nor does she become frustrated by this. I'm very happy to have found someone that work with him and his specific needs in such a caring way.
