Safety, trust & environment

I love the idea of coming to your home to care for your pets, as it allows them to continue to feel safe and in a familiar environment. Following their regular routine helps make any time away from mom and dad as stress free as possible. Pets are never left outside unattended, and if you don't have a completely fenced yard, they will always be on a secure leash for potty breaks. If spending overnights in your home, I welcome the pets to share a sleeping space, or crate them as requested. Even if I do things different with my own pets, I want to ensure all of your rules and routines are followed while you are away.

Information Cindy H. would like to know about your pet

Any allergies, stress triggers (such as certain sounds, smells, etc), medication schedules, feeding schedules, favorite treats, their typical potty schedule, sleeping arrangements (if applicable), grooming notes, and anything that I can do or bring to make my visit as stress free and enjoyable as possible.

A typical day

I am big on enrichment activities for your dogs. Preventing border helps keep stress levels low while you're away, and keeps them feeling safe and loved. Cuddle sessions, outdoor play, and nap time are also important of course! If they have any favorite activities, we will incorporate those into our daily activities too.

Pet care experience

My husband and I have owned dogs for the past 15 plus years together, and our families both owned them for many years growing up. While he would not attend your home with me, I like everyone to know that our entire house is Pet lovers. My soft spot is for seniors, and dogs with varying degrees of health related issues. The ones that nobody wants and the often misunderstood ones. I have cared for a variety of breeds with varrying degrees of health issues. I have extensive experience in administering medications, IV fluids, intramuscular injections, eye drops, nail trims, and more. I have had 2 blind dogs (one of which had both of her eyes removed due to glaucoma), so am very familiar with their sometimes unique challenges. I also have experience caring for dogs with little to no hearing, as well as ones with various levels of behavioral challenges, such as resource/food guarding, stranger/leash aggression, and more. While I love a good puppy cuddle, my heart belongs to the older four (or less!) legged friends, and I would love the opportunity to meet your furry family members.

Cindy has looked after my own pets for many years now. There are very few people I'd trust to care for my babies, and Cindy is at the top of that list! As a dedicated animal rescue director for the last 7 years, I've personally seen her deep drive to help all types of animals in need. During this time, she's developed a keen eye for seeing sneaky, subtle illnesses, and knows just what to do when she spots them. Cindy's developed many good relationships with local vets so she can ensure the animals in her care are promptly, properly cared for. I couldn't give a higher recommendation than Cindy to trust your fur babies to!

I would absolutely recommend Cindy Hildebrand as someone trustworthy to take care of my pets. I have seen Cindy's care and compassion for our furry friends as a foster for my pup I adopted as well as with the animals in her care. They’re patient, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure every pet feels safe, loved, and understood. Cindy has gone above and beyond for her own pets. She is an advocate for all companion animals including our smallest and most vulnerable furry pals with her volunteer work What sets Cindy apart is their reliability and intuition. They pick up on each animal’s personality and needs, whether that means extra playtime, quiet companionship, or careful routine management. I’ve seen them handle everything from energetic pups to shy rescues with the same calm, caring presence. Any pet owner would be lucky to have Cindy looking after their furry family members. She's a pretty awesome human

As director of an animal rescue, Cindy has devoted her life to caring for animals. She works daily managing all types of pets, feeding schedules, and medication needs! She's fantastic at navigating all types and temperaments of dogs - even my anti-social pup absolutely loves her. You absolutely couldn't find someone who would care more for your fur baby.

Cindy is incredibly knowledgeable and competent with a vast number of species! Pretty much any pet you can have- she knows how to take care of it properly. She has done so much for so many pets, through fostering, rescue, advocacy, and just being an active and loving part of the Winnipeg dog community! My dog just LOVES Cindy and gets so excited whenever she sees her! She truly has a way with animals :)
