I also ask about behavior—how they act around new people, other animals, or kids, and if there are any triggers like anxiety, loud noises, or leash habits I should be aware of. I check house rules too, like where they’re allowed to go in the home, if they can be on furniture, and how the home should be secured when I leave. I always ask for emergency contacts, including a backup person and the nearest emergency vet. I like to know their comfort habits as well—favorite toys, routines, or anything that helps them feel calm and happy while their owner is away.
