Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, since caring for animals is already part of my everyday life. I’m up bright and early every morning at 7:00 AM to feed my own cats, so maintaining consistent routines for pets is something I truly enjoy and prioritize. I work as a teacher in the afternoons, which allows me to offer morning drop-in visits and dog walks Monday through Friday before 2:00 PM. This is a great time for feeding, potty breaks, walks, litter box care, medication, and making sure your pets are comfortable while you're at work or traveling. I’m also available for late-evening visits after 9:00 PM on weekdays, which works well for pets that benefit from a final check-in before bedtime. Weekend visits are available with advance notice, especially for clients traveling who need reliable care for their dogs or cats. Because I naturally structure my day around routines (both as a teacher and a pet owner), I prioritize reliability, timeliness, and clear communication with every visit. I understand how important consistency is for both dogs and cats, and I do my best to keep their routines as normal and stress-free as possible while you're away.

Safety, trust & environment

Safety, trust, and respect for your home are my top priorities during every visit. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I always follow instructions carefully and make sure your pet’s routine stays as consistent as possible. During drop-in visits, I make sure pets have fresh water, are fed according to your instructions, and have a clean, comfortable environment. For cats, this includes litter box cleaning and monitoring eating habits, behavior, and overall comfort. For dogs, I ensure they get appropriate potty breaks, exercise, and attention based on their needs. For dog walks, I prioritize safety by using secure leashing practices and staying alert to surroundings at all times. I always check that collars and harnesses are properly secured before leaving the home and make sure pets are safely returned inside before I leave. I treat every home with care and respect—locking doors, double-checking gates, and keeping your space tidy during visits. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident knowing your pet is safe and cared for while you're away. Because I’m naturally detail-oriented and patient, I take the time to notice small changes in behavior or appetite and will communicate anything unusual right away.

Information Cicely D. would like to know about your pet

To provide the best possible care, I like to learn as much as I can about your pet ahead of time so I can keep their routine consistent and stress-free. Some helpful things for me to know include: -Your pet’s daily routine, including feeding times and portion sizes -Any medical needs, medications, or health concerns -Your pet’s personality and temperament (shy, energetic, anxious, etc.) -Any behavioral quirks or triggers (for example: fear of loud noises, other animals, or certain situations) -Preferred walking routes, litter box routines, or favorite toys -Emergency contact information and veterinarian details -Any household instructions, such as alarm systems, door or gate preferences, or special care instructions Every pet is unique, and I want to make sure I understand their needs so they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you're away.

A typical day

A typical day with pets starts bright and early! I’m naturally up at 7:00 AM to care for my own cats, so I’m used to keeping pets on consistent morning routines. I also enjoy sending photo updates during visits so you can see your pet happy, relaxed, and enjoying their time. For dogs, mornings often include potty breaks and energizing walks to start the day. Since I live in the Mueller Lake Park area, I have access to beautiful walking paths, open green spaces, and dog-friendly areas. The nearby trails and loop around the lake provide great opportunities for safe, enjoyable walks that match your dog’s energy level—whether they love a brisk walk or a slower, relaxed stroll. During drop-in visits, I make sure each pet gets personalized attention based on their needs. For dogs, that might include playtime, fetch, enrichment activities, or simply companionship and affection. I always aim to make visits engaging and positive, so they feel happy and cared for while you're away. For cats, I love getting to know their individual personalities—whether they’re playful, curious, shy, or independent. Some cats enjoy interactive playtime with toys, while others prefer quiet companionship or gentle attention. I always respect their boundaries and make sure they feel safe and comfortable in their own space. Because of my background as a teacher, I naturally adapt to different personalities and routines. Just like with students, I take time to learn what each pet needs to feel secure and happy, and I tailor my care to support their unique habits and preferences.

Patient, Reliable Pet Lover

Pet care experience

Hi! My name is Cicely, and I’m a lifelong animal lover with years of experience caring for both cats and dogs. I grew up in a dog household, and now I share my home with two beloved senior cats—a sweet black cat and a spirited calico who keeps life interesting! As a teacher by profession, I bring patience, attention to detail, and strong communication skills into everything I do—including caring for animals. I understand how much pets mean to their families, because I feel the same way about my own. I treat every pet like they’re my own and make sure they feel safe, cared for, and loved while you're away. I have experience caring for pets of all ages, from energetic puppies to senior pets who need extra patience and gentle care. I’m also comfortable administering oral medications when needed. Whether your pet needs a walk, a quick check-in, or some extra love while you’re away, I’m here to help make sure they’re happy, comfortable, and well cared for.

Cicely’s been helping me out with my 8 month puppy for over a month. Knowing he’s getting exercise, attention, and so much love gives me complete peace of mind. She’s reliable, kind, and always keep me updated. I couldn’t ask for anyone better to care for our sweet boy. Highly recommend!

Cicely was amazing taking care of my cat Scout! Scout absolutely loves and adores her. Cicely is also very attentive and even gave my house plants some hydration when she noticed they needed a little extra love while I was away. Will continue booking her!

Cicely is the BEST! She was so amazing to our pup Spyro. She did drop in visits for us while we were out of town and made sure to leave very detailed notes and lots of goofy pictures for us to see our baby. She was so patient with him and even stayed longer for his drop in visits to give him company! We will absolutely be using her in the future and I know Spyro will be so excited to see her again! Thank you so much🫶
