Hi there! I’m an experienced dog groomer, trainer, and lifelong animal lover with over 17 years of hands-on pet care experience. I own Mountain K9 Adventures, where I specialize in gentle, breed-aware grooming and balanced, positive training. I take pride in providing every dog with compassionate, individualized care — whether they’re a shy rescue, a playful puppy, or a seasoned working dog. I started grooming when I was just 10 years old and have since worked in top salons like PetSmart, Petco, and Pet Supplies Plus before running my own grooming businesses in the Netherlands, North Carolina, and now Alaska. My experience covers dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments. Beyond grooming, I’m also a trainer and hobby breeder of Border Collies, focusing on healthy, sound, and versatile dogs who thrive as both active companions and working partners. I’m deeply involved in canine sports like herding, dock diving, and barn hunt, and I understand the unique needs of high-drive, intelligent breeds.

Ciara was great with Iggy! Her and her pups kept my boy company and made his first time using a rover seamless. She communicated daily with me, sent me tons of pics and was flexible when last minute airlines changes were happening. I was confident that he was in good hands with her.
Ciara is absolutely fantastic. I boarded my dog, Dozer, with her while I was away for work, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She kept me updated with pictures and little notes about how he was doing, which really put my mind at ease.
I can’t say enough good things about Ciara! I left my two dogs, Luna and Scout, with her for a week while I was out of town, and they had an absolute blast. I loved getting photo updates of them hiking, playing, and relaxing after a fun day. It was clear they were cared for just like family. Both came home happy, clean, and tired! I won’t board my dogs with anyone else.
I left my dog Tucker with Ciara and he did great! He’s usually nervous when I’m away, but he settled right in and looked so relaxed in every update I got. You can tell she truly understand dogs and treat them like her own. When I picked him up, he was happy, healthy, and clearly had the time of his life playing and exploring. I’ll definitely be booking again for my next trip
Gedurende onze vakantie heeft Ciara met heel veel liefde en toewijding voor onze hondjes gezorgd. Je kan merken dat ze heel veel ervaring heeft met het omgaan met dieren. Wij zullen haar daarom zeker aanraden. Tijdens onze volgende vakantie zullen wij daarom zeker weer een beroep op haar doen.
Ciara heeft tijdens onze vakantie op onze twee honden gepast. In deze vakantie heeft Ciara ook de honden ook getrimd. Toen wij weer terug kwamen zagen zij er geweldig mooi uit. De honden zijn altijd weer blij als ze Ciara zien. Ciara is echt een aanrader.

Harmonogram
I work part-time as a groomer at Howling Peaks four days a week, usually finishing by noon. That means I have plenty of free time in the afternoons, evenings, and on my days off to give your dogs the attention and care they deserve. My flexible schedule allows me to accommodate walks, drop-ins, daycare, and overnight stays with ease.

In my home, dogs are treated like family. My own dogs are let out to potty every 2–4 hours, and visiting pets follow the same schedule to keep them comfortable and on routine. We do lots of mental stimulation games, enrichment activities, and exercise throughout the day to keep everyone happy, tired, and fulfilled. I maintain a calm, structured environment where dogs can relax, play, and feel secure. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or yours, I follow each dog’s normal routine for feeding, walks, and rest to make the transition smooth and stress-free. As a professional groomer and trainer, I have years of experience reading canine body language and ensuring every dog feels safe and cared for. I also offer individual training sessions outside of boarding or daycare stays for anyone interested in continuing their dog’s learning.

Dogs in my care get to play and socialize with my friendly pack, which helps them build confidence and have a great time! They’ll enjoy regular walks every 2–4 hours, plenty of exercise, and lots of mental stimulation through games and enrichment activities. I love keeping dogs active and engaged, whether that’s playing fetch, doing puzzle toys, or practicing manners and tricks. For those interested, I can also provide training sessions upon request to keep your pup’s mind sharp and learning while you’re away.
