I had several dogs growing up as a child. Our family loves dogs and we will treat your pet like it's a part of our family. We have frequently dog sat for friends and family. Our children (10 and 16) enjoyed watching and playing with the dogs so much that we decided to join Rover. My daughters have taken several summer camps at AWLA learning about pet care.

Cristy and her family were absolutely wonderful with our old pup. Communicated well and provided details to meet expectations. We did a meet and greet where she showed us where he would be staying and asked great questions about his needs and habits. Since this was a very short notice sitter request, we were especially grateful that she could take him for the weekend. He was calm and at ease when we picked him up. He didn’t seem to want to leave. Ha! Thank you for taking such good care of Tank-Titus! We would definitely request her sitting care in the future, if she’d have him over again.

Christy is everything you would want your Rover host to be. Logistically she checked all the boxes living not too far from major highway I took to my office. Easy to drop off/pick up and get back on the highway again. She responded quickly when I made an inquiry about a weekly daycare hosting for my shy miniature poodle. She demonstrated kindness and patience when our Meet and Greet began later than scheduled. During his stay, Christy texted pictures of Blinky going on a long walk or playing in the backyard. Lovely family took very good care of him. On the second day, I dropped Blinky off, he rushed through the front door without looking back. To me that said a lot because Blinky was not a social butterfly by any stretch of imagination. I can whole heartily give Christy five stars, just for that alone!

Schedule
I work from home during the day, allowing me to provide frequent walks and a lot of outdoor playtime. I have found that it's helpful to maintain your pet's routine to ensure a smooth transition. We will crate based on your preference.

Safety, trust & environment
Our house has a spacious fenced in backyard and deck, perfect for supervised outdoor playtime (fetch, frisbee, etc.). Average walks are 30 minutes three to four times a day, unless owners prefer shorter/longer walks. Our community has paved trails for walks around the lake or the sidewalks throughout the neighborhood. We have baby gates to block off the stairway for dogs that may need this safety feature. Our policy is to watch one dog at a time unless dogs are from the same household.
A typical day
I like to ensure dogs are well stimulated from exploring new smells on our frequent walks. We also play games that the dog prefer, which may include their favorite play toys or getting their zoomies out in the backyard.
