I have been in-home animal companion sitting for over twenty years. I am very reliable, and enjoy the companionship of dogs, cats, birds and other animals. I have sat repeatedly for most of my clients over the years. I am on a second generation of dogs for some of my clients. I can provide telephone numbers or email addresses for references. The dogs are very happy to see me show up at their home. I am fine with caring for other animal companions like cats and birds. I spend most of my time at the home while I am sitting. I charge per day (rather than by the night) which generally has an increase of $10.00 per day for each additional dog. This includes walks in your neighborhood or nearby park. Other animal companions, many or overly long walks, and any special duties can result in additional increases. I generally charge a reduced rate if you leave later in the day or return earlier in the day. I usually do not drive dogs to other locations, and would transport them only for medical reasons. I take care of your mail/deliveries, watering, trash, and other housesitting duties. I am very tidy and leave the home as clean or cleaner than when I arrived. I always come by before agreeing to sit to meet the dog/dogs and other animal companions to make sure we are compatible and to go over details with you. Most dogs and other animal companions I meet are friendly with me right away. Often I hear from their people that this is unusual. The first time I sit I also try to either come by a few days before if you will not be home when I arrive, or arrive just before you leave. This is so the dog/dogs or other animals will feel more secure. For repeated stays we can make arrangements you are comfortable with. I give periodic updates by phone, text or email, and take photographs which I generally share by text. Why I love dog sitting I have had dog friends since childhood. The first family dog was a little black cocker spaniel/poodle named Gigi (which I pronounced She-she). Later there was a Irish Setter named Kelly who would sleep with me in my twin bed (I was already six feet tall) along with a cat named Chippy. At one time I considered being a veterinarian, but dog care has served that desire. I genuinely enjoy the company of dogs and other animal companions. The ones I sit for repeatedly I consider friends. My experience administering medication I have over the years given various medications - pills, ointments, eye drops, etc. - which I am comfortable with. I am not interested in needle administration however.
