Hello! My name is Christine and I have been caring for pets for essentially my entire life. I grew up with a variety of pets including birds, chameleons, iguanas, mice, and dogs. I also cared for pets around the neighborhood throughout my childhood. I was raised in the type of home where pets are considered part of the family. 3 years ago, I rescued my 5 lb. Chihuahua, Tuna, and discovered that we are actually soulmates! (Who rescued who?!) I have been on Rover since February, 2023 and have had wonderful experiences caring for (and bonding with!) each and every dog who has stayed here with Tuna and me. My experience loving and caring for pets has been vast and Tuna and I look forward to meeting new pet-friends!

I live in an apartment with plenty of space (1300 sq ft.). We have access to a grassy area alongside our building, as well as several dog parks. I routinely take the dogs up to the waterfront in Jersey City or Hoboken for long morning walks, and will take them to dogs parks if they are not too crowded. Since we are located in a city and do encounter other dogs from time to time, I also expect that your dog is up to date on vaccines. You will always receive updates form me about your dog including photos and videos. I send a minimum of 2 updates per day with several photos. You are always welcome to reach out to check in! As a dog mom who also uses Rover, I understand the importance of feeling at ease that your baby is safe and having fun.

A typical day
Our routine generally consists of a long walk first thing in the morning, followed by breakfast time. We go out for short walks/potty breaks again around lunch time and early evening. In nice weather, we may take a trip to a dog park to throw a ball around. Evenings are time for movies and snuggles, and we take one last walk before bedtime. We go out for walks/potty breaks a minimum of four times per day. Some dogs tend to make themselves comfortable snuggled in the bed with Tuna and me, while others prefer their own bed or a cozy spot on the floor. I always keep extra comforters and dog beds so your baby will have plenty of places to settle in. I do at-home workouts on the weekends so I can stay home with the dogs, but if your dog would enjoy going for a run, please let me know! I would be happy to take your dog for a little run if you think this is something they may enjoy.

Availability
I work a hybrid schedule with about 1-2 days per week in the office. This allows me to care for pets throughout the day and go for walks every few hours. I am likely able to plan my office days around pet care scheduling, however, I am generally not available on Wednesdays. I take up to 3 dogs at a time and require meet and greets in advance to make sure everyone is comfortable and to ensure that I can accommodate your dog. While I never leave dogs from separate households alone in the same space, my expectation is that your dogs is okay with being left alone for 1-2 hours if I need to run an errand or leave the apartment for whatever reason. If your dog requires constant care, please let me know and this can likely be arranged depending on the schedule.
