Pet care experience
I've cared for pets big and small, young and old, energetic and timid. Neighbors, friends, and family have relied on me to walk, play with, feed and pick up after their pets. From dogs and cats to parakeets, I can assure you that your best friends are in good hands with me. As long as we can schedule ahead of time, I am flexible in fitting my schedule around what is best for you and your pets. Whether it's a weekend-long vacation, or a regular weekly walk to the park, I'm open to discuss! I can house a cat at my place to keep a watchful eye on their food and litter status without worrying about leaving them alone for too long. As far as dogs, I've visited homes and stayed with the dog for a few hours at a time, or will walk them to my house and accompany them there (depending on walking distance). I do have a cat at home who is spayed, microchipped, and is an indoor/outdoor cat. He minds his own business and gets along with other pets just fine!

Christine watched our 1 year old dog for us over a long weekend and we highly recommend her services. She treated our dog like her own - she was very attentive and made sure to follow all of our instructions about feeding, walks, interactions with other dogs, etc. Best of all, she sent us updates throughout the weekend, including adorable pictures of our pup. It felt great to relax and know that our dog was in good hands. 5/5 stars!!!
Christine is responsible, sensitive to an animal’s needs and goes out of her way to take great care of the dogs and cats she watches. I highly recommend her; so does my dog. Here’s what Scout would say if she could talk, “Wow! Christine is the best! She rubs my belly. She talks to me and she takes me for walks for as long as I want to trek. She also makes me feel better when I get scared and when I miss my humans. She knows how to get my tail wagging for sure!!”

I’ve kept care of homes and pets alike, tending to plants, bringing Mail, and keeping the general area tidy. When bringing pets to my own home, I make sure rooms are pet-proofed by setting boundaries as well as keeping them occupied with their favorite toys and treats!

I believe it’s important to know about any main forms of stress your dog may have, anxiety triggers, etc., and what you typically do to de-escalate the situation. It’s also important to know what meds they may be taking, allergies, diet restrictions, off-limits furniture or signs of odd behavior.
A typical day
At least 2 hearty walks are a given. Depending on the type of care, I’d like to make sure the pets are not too bored or they become anxious. I’d also consult with the pet owner to see their preferred walk route to make sure their animal is comfortable and familiar with the walk. Ideally, playing tug or war or fetch outside would also fit in the schedule if their energy allows it.
