Client’s home: I believe pets feel safest when their routines are respected. Before each stay in your home, I take the time to learn your dog's habits, favourite words, feeding schedule, medications, exercise routine, and any special needs. I'm comfortable administering oral medications (pills and oral syringes), checking for and safely removing ticks after walks, wiping muddy or snowy paws, towel-drying after rain or swimming, cleaning food and water bowls, and handling the occasional "oopsie" with patience and good humour. I pay close attention to changes in appetite, mobility, energy, or behaviour and will let you know promptly if anything seems unusual. I'll also send regular updates and photos so you can enjoy your trip knowing your companion is safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

I’d like to know your dog’s daily routine, favourite words, medications, feeding schedule, triggers, fears, allergies, mobility needs, and anything that helps them feel safe. Please let me know who else, if anyone, will enter the home during my stay, where medications are kept, your veterinarian’s contact information, and whether your dog experiences motion sickness. I use positive reinforcement and follow your routines rather than introducing new training. For everyone’s safety, I don’t visit off-leash dog parks and prefer quiet walks in familiar surroundings
A typical day
A typical day begins with me arriving on time, just as we discussed during our Meet & Greet. Depending on your preferences, I might greet your dog with a cheerful “Good morning!”, a happy “Good girl!” or “Good boy!”, and—if you’ve approved it—a welcome treat. Then it’s time for belly rubs (unless your companion prefers a little personal space!), fresh water, breakfast, medications if needed, and settling into the familiar routine of the day. Every pet is different. Some are eager for a walk and lots of sniffing, while others prefer a slower pace, a sunny spot by the window, gentle play, enrichment games, or simply having someone nearby. I enjoy getting to know each dog’s personality, favourite words, little rituals, and unique way of communicating. My goal is to make your absence feel as normal as possible by following the routines that make your companion feel safe and at home. Meals, medications, potty breaks, and walks are always on time. Treats are given only with your approval. I’m happy to wipe muddy or snowy paws, towel-dry after rain or water play, remove ticks after walks when needed, and clean up the occasional “oopsie” with kindness and dignity. Throughout the day, you’ll receive regular photo updates—and, if you’d like, an occasional video call—so you can see your companion happy, relaxed, and enjoying their staycation. When evening comes, it’s one last potty break, a quiet “Good night,” and settling in for a peaceful overnight stay, ready to do it all again tomorrow.

Christine has a remarkable ability to notice each dog's personality, routines, body language, and even the different sounds they make.
