Pet care is woven into my daily life, both personally and professionally. As a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, I spend much of my week working hands-on with clients and their dogs, teaching good manners, healthy habits, and strong communication between pets and their families. At home, my own crew keeps me busy and happy, I care for five dogs, three cats, two pigs, and a large flock of chickens. Feeding, training, enrichment, and health check-ins are part of my regular routine, and I genuinely enjoy it. Animal care isn’t something I squeeze in; it’s part of who I am and how I live every day.

Sicherheit, Vertrauen & Umgebung
When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their routine as closely as possible so their pets feel comfortable and secure. I make sure they’re fed on schedule, get plenty of bathroom breaks, enjoy playtime and enrichment, and receive any training or behavioral support the owner requests. I pay close attention to their individual personalities and needs, whether that’s extra exercise, quiet reassurance, or structured training practice. Because I’m a professional dog trainer, I naturally reinforce good manners and healthy habits during my visits. I also keep the home tidy, monitor the pets for any signs of stress or illness, and send regular updates so owners feel completely at ease while they’re away. My goal is always to make their pets feel cared for, safe, and loved, just like I do with my own animals at home.
Informationen, die Christina V. gerne über dein Haustier wissen möchte
Before any visit, it’s important for me to know as much as possible about each pet so I can keep them safe, comfortable, and happy. I like to ask about their daily routine, feeding schedule, and any medications they might be on. I also need to know about behavioral quirks, whether they’re shy, anxious, protective, or react to other dogs or noises. Their training history is helpful too: what commands they know, what motivates them, and anything you’re currently working on that I should reinforce. I always ask about health issues, allergies, mobility limitations, or past injuries so I can tailor activities to their needs. And finally, I like to know what they love like favorite toys, treats, games, or comfort items, because those little details help me make their time with me fun and stress-free.
Ein typischer Tag
A typical day with me is a mix of structure, care, and plenty of fun. I start by following each pet’s normal routine, morning meals, fresh water, bathroom breaks, and a quick wellness check to make sure everyone’s happy and feeling good. Throughout the day, I build in activities based on each pet’s personality. As a dog trainer, I naturally weave in little training moments like practicing sits, stays, and polite leash walking to keep their minds active. For fun, I love taking dogs on sniff-walks, playing fetch, tug, or hide-and-seek with treats, and giving them enrichment toys to work their brains. Shy or older pets get gentle companionship, brushing, and calm cuddle time. If I’m caring for cats, I add in feather-wand play sessions, window watching, and plenty of affection on their terms. I keep the day relaxed but engaging, always making sure they get exercise, mental stimulation, and lots of love. Whether we’re exploring the yard, practicing a new trick, or just hanging out together, my goal is to make every pet feel secure, entertained, and cared for while their family is away.

Your Dog's Home Away From Home!
Erfahrung in der Haustierbetreuung
I’m a Certified Professional Dog Trainer with a lifelong passion for animals. I started working with them at age 12 through 4-H, where I learned hands-on animal care and training. Over the years, I’ve gained experience not only with dogs, but also with cats, rabbits, chickens, guinea pigs, and other small mammals. My first real job at 15 was as a dog groomer, and I later worked as a veterinary assistant before moving into professional dog training, something I’ve now been doing for more than 25 years. Since May 2011, I’ve fostered more than 200 dogs and puppies, and three of my current dogs are “foster fails” who never left. I currently share my home with five dogs, three cats, two pigs, and about 75 chickens, though don’t worry, the chickens and pigs don’t actually live inside!
