More Than Just Dogs and Cats
I bring a great big heart to the table when it comes to our animal friends. Dogs, cats, bunnies, guinea pigs, budgies, fish…I am happy to provide nurturing care for them all as if they were my own. I specialize in in-home stays, drop-ins and doggie walks. In-home stays are treated as if I live there, never leaving for very long at a time. I find this is extremely beneficial for fur babies who have separation anxiety, providing a calm presence and a bonding experience that provides smooth, low stress transitions. I am comfortable caring for seniors. My experience includes caring for personal pets all my life as well as those of friends, family, and professional clients. I have been there for many journeys, loving them from the time they come into my life all the way to holding vigil as they cross over the rainbow bridge. I am quite an observant person, tuning into their needs and often noticing when something is off or perhaps they are not feeling well. My experience volunteering at a wildlife rescue honed this a bit when needing to observe and take weekly notes on behavior and eating habits of the animals in for rehabilitation. These notes helped doctors track recovery time and make any changes needed to their care. Through this experience I've learned how precious a life is, no matter how big or small it may be. Current furry family members include 5 guinea pigs. My family had to say goodbye to our beloved 15 year old dog last summer and our hearts are still aching. “Christie has taken care of our two dogs and cat, providing a walk when we are away for a long day and overnight house and pet sitting. She is great! She is very reliable and responsive and most importantly, she seems to really care about our pets and their well being while we’re gone. She always leaves our house clean and our critters happy when she leaves! I am neat and tidy, honest and conscientious. You will receive regular check-ins with pictures via text. If they happen to be having a particularly joyful moment I try to capture video to send. I am there to let them know they are not alone and their needs will be met with nurturing and kindness. Sometimes just being present in the house gives a pet peace of mind.

The house was kept tidy and she took great care of them both, especially with giving multiple medications to our one pup that needs them daily. I currently freelance, which offers freedom in my schedule to care for your fur baby in your home or out for walks to smell all the smells in the neighborhood during the week or on the weekends.

- Let me know about any funny quirks, special needs like oral or topical meds, worrisome habits, reactivity issues. When speaking about dogs I will not take on puppies or those that have little to no leash manners. For overnights I require a printed document of the following: • Primary vet contact info • Preferred emergency hospital contact info • Emergency contact information of neighbors or someone who is close in the area • Eating, sleeping, and walking schedules • Any issues - i.e. separation anxiety, reactivity triggers • Commands they know • Medications needed and instructions • Garbage and recycling schedule if applicable • Location of towels, linens, which bed I should sleep in, etc. • General rules of the house
