As mentioned, I work from home online so I am always around and able to be present and available for walks, play and cuddles throughout the day! I am able to take my work with me for stays in your home and will spend a lot of time with your pets during my stay. I am very tidy and will always respectfully leave your home the way I found it. I love to be in nature and can take your pups on trail adventures, the dog park and beaches if you wish. All adventures are followed by snuggles! You can rest assured that your animals won't be left alone for long periods and that I will take very good care of your loved one(s).

I am a warm, loving, open and positive person! I believe in positive reinforcement and always acknowledging the pups for jobs well done :) I will ensure that your pet’s routine, feeding schedule and vitamins / meds (if applicable) are maintained during my stay. I know how important it is for you to know your loved ones are well cared for and loved and will update you at least once/day to let you know how they are doing. I am always happy to send photo updates and messages so you always know your loved one is safe and happy. I love to go on walks and can take them as often as they need when staying with them. Alternatively, if your pet is a senior, or has special needs, I can provide a calm and loving healing space for them. Just let me know what your needs are and we can make it work!

Let me know what your special pup loves to do! Do they have a favourite ball or stuffed animal? Do they enjoy meeting other dogs on their walks or would they rather stay focused on a scent? I understand that not all dogs like to visit with other dogs and am comfortable keeping them to the side and away from others if necessary. *Please let me know if there are any special dietary needs or medicines your pup needs. I am happy to ensure they are well taken of. It is also important for me to know ahead of time if your dog has any special needs physically, emotionally or behaviourally. I am highly intuitive and can pick up on most of their cues, but contextual information helps me know that I am interpreting them correctly. I have had several rescue dogs and am familiar with some of the challenges that come with separation anxiety and general fearfulness of others. I am very open to working with you and your dog and helping them adjust and adapt to a happy life if they need extra support. I have also nurtured and taken care of senior dogs and have lived with multiple animals in the same home very peacefully at different times.
A typical day
I typically will take the pups on 2 walks or one longer hike per day / as needed and as many pee breaks as necessary. In the home your loved one will always have someone to be close to. I love to spend quality time with them, scratches, pets and giving gentle pet massages - especially for senior dogs with stiff joints or injured dogs who need extra support. I also love to hand out with cats and enjoy their unique nature very much; and, I have looked after a variety of other animals as well so please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have more than dog/cat.

Hello :) My name is Christina and I have lived with and loved animals my whole life. I have a deep, loving connection with all animals and nature. Currently without a furry best friend to call “my own” since my beautiful dog passed in 2021 and since then have been helping others in taking care of their loved ones until I once again adopt sometime in the future. I have cared for many furry friends throughout the years and love them all. At the moment I am back and forth between the Sunshine Coast and the North Shore frequently - I house / dog / cat sit from Powell River to Deep Cove so if you’re anywhere in between and are looking for someone experienced and reliable to come stay in your home with your loved ones while you are away, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I am a writer and work online with clients so my work travels well with me and allows me to be present and available as needed with your loved ones and your home. As well as providing all the practical care, attention and loving nurturing that your pet needs, I am also highly intuitive, which can greatly help me support your loved one with separation anxiety, rescues in adjusting to feeling safe, as well as seniors and those with special needs. Kilo and Whiskey hung around the front door yesterday after Christina left. I think they were waiting for her to come back. Now that's a tough act to follow! We appreciate the care and attention taken with our funky mix of big and little dogs and shy-guy/girl cats. Pet sitting/housesitting can be a stressful gig for all parties involved. However, after our initial visits I was able to leave for 5 days with the confidence that I had chosen the right person to care for our pets and home. Christina clearly loves animals and approaches this role with the right blend of compassionate care and professional demeanor. We look forward to welcoming Christina to our house again!

Christina took amazing care of our dog, 2 cats and numerous house plants while housesitting for 2.5 weeks. We came home to a very happy and healthy fur family, plus a lovely tidy house - a real joy after 2 weeks away from home. I would recommend Christina in a heartbeat.
