Pet care experience

Meds, seniors, nervous pets—yes

Hi, I'm Tina! With 160+ overnights and 80+ visits (and SO many walks) under my belt--plus a lifetime of cat ownership--I offer experience you can count on. I'm great with puppies and special needs animals- seniors on meds, scaredy cats, dogs from rough beginnings, or pets who forget their manners. As a nonprofit professional and a Midwest mom in my 50s, I bring a calm, grounded, common-sense approach to pet care. When you invite someone into your home, you want someone reliable, mature, and communicative — that's exactly what I offer. Cats, including the shy or feisty ones: I have a real knack for coaxing out the cat who disappears under the bed the moment a sitter walks in. I let them set the pace, and more often get snuggles in playtime with the cat who usually spends a sitter's visit hiding. Feisty ones who hiss or nip won't bother me. My own cat lived her whole life with severe allergies. I'm well practiced at medicating a cat who has firm opinions about being medicated — usually before she's quite registered what happened. Seniors and medications: I'm meticulous with schedules, mobility assistance, and oral or topical meds, with digital reminders set so nothing slips. Anxious and reactive dogs: I read body language and respect boundaries. I've worked with dogs who had unpleasant puppyhoods and needed to learn that people are safe — and I've gone back to sit for reactive dogs because I enjoyed their company so much. With bouncy, over-enthusiastic dogs, I'm calm and consistent, which is usually all it takes for them to settle. Clear, detailed updates: You'll always know how your pet is doing — timely messages with potty and meal details, and plenty of photos. I ask questions rather than make assumptions. Your home and house rules will be respected. I treat your home with thoughtful care, and your pets like family. I'm always glad to do a meet-and-greet beforehand to walk through your routines and preferences. The more you tell me about likes, dislikes, and behavioral quirks, the easier it is to keep everyone happy. Fair warning: I have a very hard time walking past the toy aisle on behalf of a pet I'm sitting for. Let me know if that's a problem — otherwise, expect the occasional gift.

Christina really seemed to get along with Greyson. She was pro-active in purchasing some food when she ran out of his favorite. I always loved getting photos of him and his quirky behaviors.

Christina and Willow got along great. She had a little trouble keeping appointments before the sit, which made me nervous about whether she was reliable, but everything went fine during and she was communicative with updates while I was away. She very clearly cared about my dog, and Willow was happy and healthy upon my return. She also watered plants for me, which was very helpful.

Christina was everything her previous 5 star reviewers said and then some. This was our first experience of using Rover to take care of our 3 cats (one geriatric and two kittens) for drop in visits. She bought them toys, played cat games with them in addition to feeding and cleaning up. Came home to a very happy and content cat family! We have already set up additional cat:house sitting dates with Christina.

Clear Communication: Regular updates and photos customized to your preference, with prompt outreach whenever questions arise. I work from home, so I'm around during the day with a flexible schedule I can build around your pet's needs. Available for daytime visits, walks, and medication drop-ins, and for overnight care. A quick note for owners: Please share all of your pet's likes, dislikes, quirks, and behavioral challenges upfront so I can keep your pets safe and happy!

A typical day

Your pet’s typical day belongs to them, not me. I tailor it to their comfort and routine. Their schedule first: Walks and meals on their clock, favorite snacks too. Every energy level: From slow neighborhood sniffers to active exercise to independent relaxation, I adapt to their pace. Gentle enrichment: If they aren't active players or walkers, I will try to provide simple, low-stress mental stimulation and interaction. (If you have a camera system in the house you will see me playing and laughing with your pets.) Attentive & Responsive: I respect behavioral boundaries, read body cues carefully, and always reach out to you right away if anything feels off.

Please share the challenging habits along with the sweet ones—clear communication keeps your pet safe, happy, and protected! 100% transparency = maximum safety and comfort for everyone. Knowing about triggers (leash reactivity, prey drive, shoe chewing, fear, potty-training or litter box issues) allows me to proactively avoid unpleasant or dangerous situations. Consistent Management: I can use your exact method, cues and management strategies so your dog stays calm and secure. Upfront Honesty: If your pet has intense behaviors, sharing them helps me provide the best possible care for your pet.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
