I have been working part-time on Rover since October of 2024. Before Rover, I worked at Camp Bow Wow in Sandy, UT from November 2023 to August 2024, and I loved every minute of it. For 10 months I spent 35 hours each week caring for 25-85 dogs at a time; I fell in love with each pup I had the pleasure of caring for. I learned so much and gained invaluable experience: - I gained a great understanding of how our dogs communicate, including understanding body language and other nonverbal cues. - I took care of dogs as young as 4 months and as old as 18 years! - I managed feeding, medicating, and caring for up to 85 dogs at once - I worked with dogs of all personalities, including dogs that struggled with fear, anxiety, or reactivity. - perhaps most importantly, I learned that it’s possible to love hundreds of dogs as if they’re your own! In addition, I fostered a 3yo PITBULL-German Shepard mix for over a year while living in Utah. He is the sweetest boy, but he struggles with anxiety and reactivity from his past. He has taught me so much about working with dogs that struggle more with reactivity and anxiety. Many of my clients have dogs who struggle with reactivity. I have been able to provide advice to pet parents as well as working with their dog to help with reactivity. I am not a dog trainer, but I do have a fair bit of experience training dogs and am always happy to try to help. I will always follow your pet’s cues and make sure they feel safe and loved.
