I understand that some pets are shy & may take time to warm up. I will always walk in and greet the pets with a warm, friendly voice. I sit on the floor as I offer my hand for a sniff & let the pet tell me that it is ok to pet them. Permanant gates throughout the house to seperate by family to ensure safety when unsupervised.

Information Christina B. would like to know about your pet

What does your pet's typical feeding & potty break schedule look like? Any allergies or things to avoid? Can they have treats & bites of meats(mostly all natural treats)? Any commands your pet knows or would like me to work on? What is your pets' social history? I will do my best to ensure they feel safe & comfortable with me.

A typical day

A typical day at Cozy Cottage: If the weather is nice, the pack & I will take out a comforter, a bag full of toys & treats, a large water bowl & a gallon of fresh filtered water. As I sit on the comforter under the shade tree, the pups run, play & patrol the yard. I offer the pups a large variety of toys including tug ropes, chew toys/treats, Frisbee, & every variety & size of ball. We spend time playing fetch, tug of war, or all running across the yard together with lots of breaks to relax in the shade. We take a break inside every hour or 2 to cool off & grab more fresh water. After dark, we come in for snuggle time & sometimes head back out for glow ball fetch to burn off any remaining energy. On cold or extra hot days, we will take frequent short breaks outside. We will play a quick game of fetch outside when we can. Otherwise, fetch, tug of war & other enrichment games inside. My goal is to send your pets home happy & tired! Let me know if there is anything special your pets enjoy and I will be happy to indulge.

Pet care experience

Come on Spring! We want to play outside all day! Come let your pet enjoy a cozy, fun vacation at our Cozy Cottage while you are away! Only accepting up to 6 pets at a time to ensure lots of one-on-one attention. Located just a few minutes off of I-80 between Iowa City & Des Moines. Offering a large, half acre yard on the edge of a tiny rural town. Lots of outside play time that includes running, digging, fetch & water play! All pets welcome to snuggle up on the bed or couch. Pets are allowed to roam free within the home. Pets from different families will be separated during meal time & when left unsupervised. Reverse osmosis drinking water provided & refreshed often. We also provide treats, plenty of toys & bedding options. All areas & bedding cleaned & sanitized often. We want your pet to feel as at home & pampered as possible in a safe, loving home! We have a 6' tall chain link fence around the entire yard with boards securing the bottom. Any small gaps have been reinforced to secure even our smallest guests. Looking into other ways to enhance the yard for more puppy fun & open to suggestions! I do have my boarding/ daycare license as required by Iowa law. I will need all guests to fill out a form & submit vaccination records. Records must include spay/neuter status and the following vaccines: Rabies, parvo, & distemper. Puppies under 6 months don't need to be spayed or neutered but they do need to have all 3 vaccinations. Thank you! *Any other accommodations or services you are interested in, just ask! Hi, I'm Christine & I would love to care for your pet as my own. I am the person at a gathering that you will find sitting on the couch with the cat or playing fetch in the backyard. I have raised several puppies & many kittens, including caring for kittens from three days old after mama passed suddenly. I never get rid of a pet once they come into my life. Currently, I have a cat, Fuzzy, that is 18 years old & was born in my home.

Christina is amazing and I can’t recommend her enough. I was very uncertain about Stella’s ability to be around other dogs but Christina had patience and took a methodical approach to introducing her to the other dogs at her home. Stella had the best time and for the first time in a long time, got to socialize with other dogs. We will definitely be back.

What a godsend! Christina assisted us with our 5 dogs on short notice as we had to leave town for a family emergency. She's a kind and gentle person who clearly loves animals and is very knowledgeable on their care. Christina was professional and always responded quickly to messages and kept us updated.

Christina did it again. Frankie had another enjoyable vacation in Ladora. At almost 16 years old, he sometimes needs a little extra and Christina gave him the royal treatment.

Christina took such great care of my dogs while I was on vacation! I had no worries about them, she sent daily pictures of them playing in her large fenced-in yard and socializing and resting. She kept me up to date on their food intake and health as well. She was extremely professional and kind, her "Cozy Cottage" is clean and inviting and perfectly set up to care for your furry friends. I'll definitely be booking again!
