I am a fully remote worker, allowing me to provide plenty of attention to my furry guests. I tend to go out in the evenings to exercise at the local rec center or take a yoga class, but by that time my husband is usually home from work. If your dog needs a serious workout, my husband and I both run, so we can take them along with us. I am by no means a fast runner but if your dog is, maybe they can help me improve my pace! It's also worth nothing that I don't drink alcohol so I'm always of clear mind and able to drive in the event of an emergency.

I live in a detached house with two floors and a fenced-in yard. Our primary living space is all on the first floor, so if your dog has mobility issues, we can avoid the stairs and use the side gate to access the my back yard. I also have a small set of doggie steps to help with getting in and out of our bed. As for dog beds, we have an extra, large-sized bed, so we've got you covered!

Information Christin P. would like to know about your pet
Does your dog have any anxiety triggers (i.e. loud cars)? Any issues when encountering other dogs on a walk? Does your dog struggle to eat when separated (I've handfed dogs with this issue)? Are there any dietary restrictions? I mentioned giving out fruits, veggies, and eggs as treats but will follow any rules you have in that regard. Any information you think is worth sharing, I'm all ears!
A typical day
A typical day includes a mix of backyard time and leashed walks. While indoors, the pups are welcome to enjoy the couch, the dog beds, the human bed, and more toys than any dog really needs (tennis balls, benebones for the chewers, and squeak toys). In the cooler months, we bundle up and remind ourselves that we need to get outside to soak up as much Vitamin D as possible, even if we can't see or feel the sun! I live less than a half mile from several nature trails (some in the woods, others are paved), so we don't have to go far for a good walk. When it's warm, I like to telework on the back deck and supervise the pups in the yard. I love filling up the baby pool for outdoor fun. Some dogs think it's just a large water bowl, others realize its potential as a means of cooling down by laying in the pool. I'm mindful of not over-exerting the dogs in the summer heat and keep the walks more brief until after sunset. In terms of treats, my dog, Cleo, is wholly satisfied with foods that many of us humans eat out of obligation to our health, like raw veggies. I typically dole out carrots, broccoli, bell peppers, celery, and fruits like apples, strawberries, bananas. And when I make eggs in the morning, I make sure to cook a little extra for the pups, if that's OK with the pawrents.

Pet care experience
I grew up in a home with various pets...dogs, cats, fish, and an African Grey parrot. I'm one of the rare breeds that loves both cats and dogs (equally!), but due to my husband's cat allergy we can only have dogs in the house. About 15 years ago I started pet sitting my neighbor's black lab, Morgan. I then advertised my pet-sitting services via my neighborhood listserv and that's when things really took off. I have experience with drop-in visits and hosting dogs at my home. I rescued my dog, Cleo, eight years ago, so our guests have a built-in companion during their stay. I've hosted a variety of dogs in terms of size and temperament. Some are all about play-time while others couldn't be bothered by such shenanigans. Cleo and I are fine with both! She likes to sleep all day but if she has a friend around who wants to play, her inner puppy gets activated. As a Rover customer myself, I know the anxiety that comes with leaving your dog in someone else's care. I appreciate receiving updates on my dog without having to ask, so you can expect that service from me! A photo and text message update every day is standard, but you'll probably hear from me twice a day. I love sending pics of the dogs living the good life, but if you're getting away and trying to unplug from technology, just let me know how often to check in!
Reviews

Christin was amazing! She was super responsive and sent daily updates, Hondo had a blast. Thank you for taking such a good care of my pup!

Christin took such wonderful care of Vinny! We received regular updates with messages and photos throughout his stay, which we really appreciated. Vinny was clearly so happy and comfortable with her — they went on walks, and she was flexible with a later evening pickup. When we got him back, he was calm and relaxed, which is not something we experience very often. It was clear he felt safe, cared for, and truly enjoyed his time with Christin. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for excellent care.
Christin helped with my Boston Terrier, Inky, for several years. She was by far the best dogsitter we ever had. I always knew he was in the best hands with her, but also having the most fun! Inky KNEW when Christin picked him up, it was time to PARTY! He really felt connected and comfortable with her. Christin always kept in touch with me giving updates on their adventures and sending great photos. The hardest part of leaving the DMV area was not having Christin anymore to dogsit for my baby boy. We miss her!!!
Christin is the best! She has watched my pup many times and I couldn’t ask for a better sitter. She is incredibly responsive, sends tons of updates and is super flexible. My dog also doesn’t love many other dogs but she loves Cleo - it’s because Christin knows how to manage my pup around other dogs. Christin will treat your dog just like they are her own.
