Cat lady with dog envy
I'm a lifelong cat owner, having raised kittens and adopted adult cats. I don't have my own dogs but have been a sitter for friends, family and strangers for many years. I listen to animals about their needs, both for autonomy and companionship. Particularly experienced with redirecting reactive dogs and administering subcutaneous fluids for kidney-impaired cats.

I like to speak with clients in advance about how their pet relates to strange humans, and what kind of approach (eye contact, voice volume, treat bribes, et cetera) their pets are most comfortable with. For dogs, walk protocol is an important thing for me to know as well. My default is to assume every pet is going to be wary of me until I earn trust, which I work for through maintaining a quiet, calm presence with as much hewing to normal routines as possible.

Schedule
I'm a graduate student at the U. My workload is significant but my flexibility is high. Pet care is a welcome diversion before/after class, in the middle of project work, and as breaks from grading student papers.
