I have cared for cats and dogs since I was 10 -- though my passion and love for them were derived much earlier than that, as my parents can attest to the fact that I've brought home chipmunks, squirrels, and even baby birds that have needed some TLC before being released into the wild. I have taken care of my neighbors' furbabies, other family members, and friends all throughout my school-aged into adult years and now love to send little message updates with pictures of people's animals or videos while they're away. I am confident in my dog walking, basic grooming, and bathing skills. I've even been able to trim the moodiest of cats' claws when necessary. I have always had a personal connection with the creatures I've been tasked with taking care of. Reptiles, birds, and fish are also the other kinds of "family members" I have had experience with caring for. I had the wonderful experience of taking in a feral "teen-mom" cat a few summers ago and helping her through the birth of her 4 kittens. I acclimated mom and her babies into a loving household and found all of them forever homes by the start of the school year! I still keep in touch with the families that claimed them and love seeing how much they've grown since then. I am no stranger to pets with medical needs and have experience administering medication when needed, securing "cones-of-shame" when necessary, and providing injections.
