We love adding fur babies to our lives. We have small children and feel pets are a very important part of children’s lives. Providing drop ins is awesome. Doggy sleepovers are our favorite. We love having dogs on the couch, and kitties on the window seal.

We believe in leaving things and beings better than we find them. While we recognize sometimes people choose to not flea treat, we do flea treat our pets. So if fleas happen, we alert you and then are happy bathe with dawn dish soap and provide a CapStar for the appropriate weight and type of animal. While we do treat our own animals and yard, sometimes past visitors, neighbors, or even squirrels share things. We provide lots of toys and just like a human daycare, we ask that you leave your toys at home to avoid them being lost or communicating when a toy is left so it can be provided back. We do not provide hard toys. While we do crate our own dog, we do not crate yours unless you have communicated otherwise. We have two different rooms dogs from different families can sleep in if rover stays accidentally or are communicated to cross over.

Information Christian D. would like to know about your pet

Is your fur baby crate trained? How are they with small children? Are they on any special diets? We ask about crate training as a general training question. Over the years of being on Rover we have noted that doggos that were crate trained even if just as puppies seem to have a better demeanor. We ask about small children because we have those, and they while we love all dogs, not all dogs like being in a home with small children. We supervise the children and dogs interactions and put the dogs up during meal times of the small children to avoid Littles feeling doggos. We have also been known to accommodate doggos whom just want to have a place to stay and keeping them away from children. We ask about special diets due to our sweet Olive 🌈 whom has since past, she was very allergic to chicken. And chicken hides in lots of food and lots of treats. We want to respect all allergies and help keep your pet as comfortable as possible.

A typical day

We enjoy back porch sitting, we have a large yard with a large porch that we sit with the puppies on to ensure they get the needed sunshine. We also enjoy a playful game of fetch! Movie nights are a staple and dogs are allowed on furniture. We clean the couches regularly.

Pet care experience

We have one dog and we are parents to young children. With our schedule there are times that we will need to be out of the house but we will let the fur kids out as needed and the dogs are regularly exercised. There are other times we go out of town and our fur kids need watching. We request that a meet and greet happen before a stay is booked to confirm that our families mesh, last minute stays can only happen if a meet and greet occurs first. Our Olive the pug would like some friends to come over and socialize, play, and bond with, we are all excited to play! Since it is getting warmer we do request the meet and greet to be in the morning or early evening to avoid fur babies to get over heated.

They sent many photos of Scrappy, and kept him nice and happy. He did have a sick tummy and they made sure he was okay. When we went to pick him up we had locked all our belongings in the car. They had insisted on driving us to our apartment across town. They were absolutely amazing and we couldn’t have asked for a better sitter.

This was my first time needing to board my dog and Christian was the best choice I could’ve made. She sent tons of pictures regularly that put me at ease and my dog seemed very happy there. Will definitely send him back next time it’s needed 😊

Took great care of my pup and loved on him his whole stay. He is normally is sassy at us after we are away from him, but he got in the car so at peace tonight and seemed to really be at peace at Christian's home. I also received lots of pics and communication and never worried about him a bit.

Our dog came back with a chipped tooth (previously perfect teeth, never given hard chews), was shellshocked for a few days (usually back to normal almost immediately), and missing some of his toys. When we picked him up, Chris insisted that our dog had a great time. Well, strange then, that his kids told me “my dad said he was gonna punch Cosmo in the face.” Kids say the darndest things, and two of them corroborated the story. We followed up by asking Chris if Cosmo was cold towards him, and he said Cosmo was very warm towards him. Odd that his kids suggested otherwise. Suffice to say, we will never take Cosmo back to the person who may have threatened to punch him in the face, where he also returned from with a chipped tooth. Oh, and he came back with couple fleas, which I understand can happen in shared dog environments, but for the sake of full disclosure, I happen to know he had no fleas because we had shaved his fur down to the skin just before handoff, and he was completely clean at that time. I can kinda sorta understand the stuff like lost toys or some fleas. What Im not okay with is alleged threats of violence towards my dog. I’ve given all my prior sitters five stars, regardless of minor imperfections. But this one is a resounding NEVER AGAIN from me.
