Availability
I work from home so I usually have a range of availability and flexibility which makes personalized pet care the perfect fit for my schedule. It also helps that my two kids (11 and 14 years old) are kind and respectful animal lovers and they love to help out. They have interacted with many different kinds of dogs at this point and show a thoughtful consideration for the needs of each individual animal. It's just the three of us living here and we are a gentle family with a genuine love for animals.

Safety, trust & environment
My house sits on a corner lot just shy of an acre. We have a fully-fenced backyard with a doggy pool I like to set up in the summer. The house itself is a spacious and pet-friendly split level where the upstairs is bright and open (usually the busiest area of the house) and the downstairs is cooler and quiet with a lot less traffic. It's the perfect floorplan to separate animals based on their needs, although I haven't met many dogs who aren't happiest following us around upstairs and getting all that sweet family attention!

Information Christel M. would like to know about your pet
Let me know beforehand if your dog has any behavioral obstacles we might need to work around like resource-guarding or leash reactivity. I have handled high-energy puppies, working breeds, intact males and females, dogs that don't get along and plenty of people- and dog-reactive dogs. I am open to working with any animal as long as there is a safe way to do it.
A typical day
On a typical day, I let my guests out first thing in the morning for about an hour of group play. Then I will crate or separate each dog with their breakfast followed by a backyard potty break and more play. Throughout the rest of the day, I alternate between work and backyard sessions or long walks. (I live in an older, established neighborhood that is a gem of greenbelts and forested areas.) The dogs are free to enjoy downtime inside the house while I work and I fully encourage roughhousing indoors as long as the furniture isn't being used for freestyle doggy parkour... I also have easy access right outside my neighborhood to many fun outdoors spaces. I have taken client's dogs to the Pilchuk River, the Skykomish River, Wellington Hills, Willis Tucker dog park and more. I will always keep your dog on-leash (unless you and I are both comfortable with an off-leash situation) but I do like to use a long line (15-30ft) which doesn't seem to get in the way of any fun! As long as your dog has basic obedience and manners, I am willing to take them anywhere you are comfortable. No dog should be without outdoor enrichment.

Stress-Free & Dedicated Pet Care
Pet care experience
Most of my initial experience comes from providing pet care for friends and family, working at animal rescue shelters and helping foster numerous dogs and puppies. But raising my latest dog (a mix of two working breeds) truly pushed me to learn what it takes to meet the needs of an intelligent animal who requires so much multi-dimensional stimulation. The years I spent training and introducing Sasha to an outdoor world of adventure is what sparked my desire to include other dogs. After hundreds of bookings, I now have experience with a range of breeds, sizes and temperaments. I can work my magic with your high energy dog, your shy dog, even your elderly dog with special needs. Sasha is especially adept at adjusting her behavior in accordance with your dog's social cues. She absolutely adores puppies and can be very tolerant of that playful energy. Under-socialized, shy or fearful dogs will benefit from her dog-neutral nature because she won't encroach on another dog unless they invite it. It has allowed so many dogs to slowly acclimate to their new environment without feeling overwhelmed or pressured to engage. I have seen the most beautiful transformations while getting to know a shy dog that becomes an unexpected social butterfly when given the chance to go at their own pace! Even if your dog simply doesn't have an interest in interacting and prefers its own space, she has no issue peacefully co-existing with others. I exercise the dogs daily with a variety of activities such as fetch, neighborhood walks, off-leash exploration and visits to the dog park. I like to use crates at night for puppies and young dogs and, if I have to leave the home, I always crate or separate every individual unless they are from the same household. I also have ways of partitioning my home using gates so that during the day any dog can get peace or privacy from others when they need it without being separated from the family. I don't require crates for house-trained dogs unless they prefer it but overall, nothing makes me happier than being able to fully integrate your pet into my home for their stay. Before Rover, I had no idea how much I would enjoy getting into bed at night and seeing three or four dogs curled up on their respective dog beds in my bedroom!
Reviews

Christel is very knowledgeable of dog behavior, set up a meet and greet that was very thoughtfully conducted to allow her to see how my dog and Sasha interacted prior to boarding. Her home has a very nice large backyard perfectly suited for dogs to run around and play. She's also very good about communication and status updates with pics and videos!

Christel is awesome! She does an amazing job caring for our high energy GSD and knows how to tire him out both physically and mentally. He spent 5 days with her and came home exhausted, it was great :D She sent so many photos and detailed updates about his stay and how he was doing. I love that we don't have to worry about him and appreciate how much she cares about the dogs she watches and ensures everyone plays safely. I also really appreciate her flexibility with pickup and drop off. We will definitely be regulars!!

Simply, a perfect fit. Christel spends time with the pup, goes on walks, allows them in her home. Lots of pics🥰

Christel was so great, she took great care of our old man Mo, she also helped take care of his paw when she noticed he was favoring it. She took pictures and helped me have a peace of mind while we were away on our trip. I knew he was in great hands, would definitely book again for our next trip! Thank you again!!
