Widely-experienced animal caretaker
My passion in life is working with animals. I have always had dogs, cats, and birds—all rescues. I've worked with big cats, primates, reptiles, and just about anything you can imagine when was Lead Caretaker at an animal sanctuary in Citrus County, FL, where I was in charge of feeding, cleaning, food inventory, and enrichment. I then spent many years in Panama, where I volunteered for "Amigos de los Animales," a charity organization that holds a monthly spay and neuter clinic. There, I supported veterinarians and helped monitor and revive dogs and cats after their procedures. I have helped my own furry kids through epilepsy, congestive heart failure, crippling arthritis, behavioral problems, end-of-life care, and cancer. They are all over the rainbow bridge now and I miss them deeply. Since I've relocated back to Florida, I've begun housesitting for dogs, cats, and more. I don't have any pets of my own right now and I run my own digital business, so my schedule is very flexible. I have 100% of my attention to devote to your furbaby's needs. I am a very neat, clean, and reliable person who will be available 24/7 for your furbabies. I like to make sure all pets have the best day ever, while also giving their humans the peace of mind and freedom to travel knowing their precious ones are in experienced, loving, and trustworthy hands.

I care for pets as if they are my own. I also understand pets who need space or time to develop trust. I'm especially good with problem animals, large animals, and those who need extra care—like senior pets or those with health issues. For those guys who need a good run, I love to exercise outdoors.

Christa stayed with our animals overnight, and I honestly can’t say enough good things about her. We have two dogs, Manson and Dexter, along with our bunnies, so finding someone we completely trust with all of them is really important to us. Christa was hands down one of the best sitters we’ve ever had. What impressed us the most was how comfortable our dogs were with her, especially Dexter. He can be particular about people and doesn’t always completely relax around someone new, but I have honestly never seen him so calm and comfortable with someone. Seeing how he was with Christa immediately put us at ease. She kept us updated, took great care of everyone, and we came home to happy, relaxed animals. It was obvious that she actually spent time with them and made sure they were comfortable rather than just doing the basics and calling it a night. She was also great with the bunnies and made sure everyone was taken care of exactly how we asked. It’s not easy leaving your animals with someone, especially when they all have their own personalities and routines, but we felt completely comfortable with Christa. We will absolutely be booking her again and would recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for someone they can genuinely trust with their pets.
Christa was PHENOMENAL! She took such great care of our puppies. She was flexible to all of their unique needs and puppy behaviors while sticking to their routine. Christa was also very communicative, professional, and kind. She made it feel natural to not worry about the pups because we knew they were in good hands.

Schedule
Animals are my favorite people. I am a digital nomad who works from anywhere and am extremely flexible with my schedule. I currently have no pets, so I would love to give 100% of my attention to yours!
