I grew up in rural Louisiana and have been an animal whisperer and novice rescuer for as long as I can remember. I started helping neighbors with pet care and stray rehabilitation when I was a teenager. As a teen, I also worked on a farm and had exposure to many different types of animals. I have worked with other local professional pet care agencies here in Pittsburgh and I am a Certified Pet Saver (trained in pet care and basic first aid). I have experience working with challenging/reactive animals, senior pets and administering medications. My primary job for the past 10 years has been in-home social services, so I am very familiar with being in other homes and treating them with the same respect as my own. I am comfortable with all dogs and cats (and other critters), regardless of age or breed. I'm able to follow detailed instructions and I can also help with other house sitting needs: watering plants, taking the trash out, switching lights on and off, yard poop clean-up, bringing in mail and packages and other requests (within reason). I will make sure your pets and property are given the utmost respect and care while you are away and I will provide you with detailed updates per your preference.

I own my home and I have a fenced balcony that pups can relax on and enjoy the weather instead of being cooped up inside. I have an unfenced yard for potty breaks. I have two cats who are neutered, vaccinated, and very friendly. They are also okay around dogs, but I am able to keep them separated if needed. If your pet needs to be crated, you will need to provide that as I do not have a crate here. As far as visits in your home, I will follow whatever instructions you provide and treat your home and pet(s) as my own. I want them to feel as if nothing has changed in their routine while you are away.

I have known Christa for 15 years. She has demonstrated an abundance of abilities to care and love for any pet. She is respectful, mindful, & dependable to any pet, a specialized need, and/or your schedule. She is top notch whether it is providing playful entertainment, a long walk, or snuggles on the couch. She is truly a gem for local pet care.

Christa is a life saver. I’m always traveling for work and she’s great to schedule with and work with my schedule. She’s super reliable and always sends pictures and videos with her visit. It’s nice to have someone I can trust and rely on with my inconsistent schedule.
Christa has been watching my orange boy, Leo (cat), for a few years now. I’ve had several other people look after Leo but honestly, none have done as good as a job as she has. I completely trust leaving my cat’s life in her hands as they say. She’s super detail oriented, really caring, and super fun. Leo always has a good time and trusts her. I’ve also recently gotten a new kitty in addition to my OG cat and she’s done amazing with both making sure they both have their needs met. I’m always traveling and the first person I contact is Christa to have her watch my little furry boys.
I have known Christa many years and to know Christa is to understand her love of all animals. In her own personal experience she has cared for our furry friends like cats and dogs; however, in her more recent years she has opened up her experience to a plethora of different animals. In these more recent experiences she has done everything from young to old, special needs, etc. Christa loves my pets just as her own and would be a wonderful benefit to the Rover team. Christa knowledge and experience would make a pet owner at ease knowing she would be their caretaker.

Schedule
I do not have a fixed worked schedule. I do in home social services and pet care, some agency and some freelance. No two weeks look the same. I try to keep my schedule here updated to reflect my weekly availability and if we schedule a visit, just know that is my commitment to you and your pet(s) at that time.
