Safety, trust & environment
I understand inviting someone into your home and trusting them with your pet is a big decision. I treat every home with the same care and respect I would want for my own. As an owner with specific pet routines of my own, I know that each pet has their own preferences and comfort level that I pay close attention to. My goal is to provide dependable care, clear communication and peace of mind so you can be present while you're away knowing your pet is in good hands.
Information Christa D. would like to know about your pet
The more I know about your pet ahead of time, the better I can make them feel comfortable and cared for! I'd love to know their daily routine, favorite activities, personality and preferences. Please let me know about any medications, allergies, energy levels, fears/anxieties, leash habits, reactivity to people or other animals, and any training commands they know. For dogs I'd love to know their walking routine, favorite routes, toys and treats. For cats, I'd love to know where they like to hide, how they like to play, and whether or not they like affection or prefer their personal space. Don't hesitate to let me know if you have any house rules or routines you'd like me to follow. My goal is to keep your pet's daily experience as consistent as possible so they feel safe, comfortable and loved while you're gone.
A typical day
Every pet is different, so I want to make sure your pet gets time tailored to their personality, energy level and routine. For dogs, that could mean a fun walk around the neighborhood, playing with their favorite toy, practicing commands with plenty of praise, or just letting them sniff around and do their own thing at their own pace. I want to make sure your dog not only gets the exercise they need, but mental stimulation and emotional care. For cats, that could be interactive play with wand or laser toys, batting around their favorite mouse, or a great lap sit with lots of affection (if they're the cuddly type and consent of course). I believe in letting them come to me first, while I just sit quietly near them.

Treating Your Pets Like Family
Pet care experience
I've been an animal lover my entire life, and caring for both cats and dogs have always brought me a lot of joy. Growing up I always had cats and dogs in the house at all times. Caring for them through every stage of life has taught me a lot about patience, trust and the eclectic personalities that make pets so wonderful. I love learning about animal behavior and body language so I can help animals feel safe, understood and comfortable. I believe in meeting them where they are and earning their trust at their own pace, no matter the personality type.

Reviews
Christa is a phenomenal personal; her kind heart and responsible nature instantly attracts pets. My little dog is very nervous of people and shakes and barks at every person he doesn't know well. He immediately took to Christa and she fast became his best friend. When Christa walks into my house, not only does my dog now come running but my cats beg for her attention. Christa is the perfect person to care for both dogs and cats alike!
To Whom It May Concern: I have known and worked with Christa DeVol for the better part of nine years. During that time, I have found her to be reliable, responsible, kind, self-motivated, and a devoted animal lover, especially when it comes to cats. She currently has two cats of her own, Jazzy and Dominic. As a pet owner myself, I would not hesitate to hire Christa to care for and feed my cat, the Duchess. I trust her completely and would feel comfortable giving her full access to my home while I am away. If you have any questions regarding Christa or her character, please do not hesitate to contact me.
