Safety, trust & environment

I have a fenced backyard that backs up to a forest. I will be happy to take care of your dog the same way that you take care of them.

Information Chris R. would like to know about your pet

I like to know if your dog is aggressive to other dogs or people. I would also like to know if I will need to provide medications. I also like to know their little "nuances" - they like but rubs, belly rubs, etc. Lastly, I would like to know what their walking preferences are - walk and sniff everything or brisk non-stop walk or etc.

A typical day

My two Westies get at least 2 walks a day. I will typically walk them as far as they want to go (that’s usually 3-4 miles a day in total). About once a week, we like to go to the forest preserve where they can take in all the new smells. Also, once or twice a week we will try a new or different venue for walking to mix things up a bit. They love to play in the yard chasing balls and just goofing around. When the day is all done, we retire to the bedroom where they snuggle up with me and their two kitty friends.

Update #2 (11-13-25): I have joined the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA). I have joined the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association (ISVMA). I have had dogs in my life for over 40 years. I have had large and small dogs. My dogs are part of the family. They travel with me whenever I can take them. I love dogs so much that I also volunteer at two dog rescues and I am looking for an internship at a clinic or animal hospital. In addition, I am working toward my Associates Degree in Applied Science in Purdue University’s Veterinary Technology Program.

Chris was very attentive to our kitty while we were away and sent FANTASTIC updates while caring for her. You can really tell when someone is passionate about animals and truly cares for them. Chris is patient and worked with our cat in establishing trust and friendship :) we highly reccomend Chris for any family wanting to ensure their little fur baby is being taken care of :)

Chris did a fantastic job caring for my two cats. He was reliable, thorough, and sent detailed updates with plenty of photos at every visit. He clearly spent real time playing with them and getting to know their personalities, and he even helped with a few things around the house without being asked. I came home to happy cats and everything in great shape. I’d absolutely book Chris again.

Chris was quick to respond to my last minute request and very accommodating in fitting in a meet and greet the evening before we needed his services. He was friendly, knowledgeable (about the app, which I'm not) and my dogs loved him. We felt comfortable letting Chris into our home to take care of our furry children. He kept us updated and sent lots of pics. We would certainly use his services in the future.
