Safety, trust & environment

For all dog interactions, I require they be up to date with their vaccinations and tick/flea meds. Dog Boarding: - If boarding at my house, I always let the dog loose in our backyard (6ft high fences) first to become familiar with the scent of Archie. Once familiar, if your dog is friendly I will let Archie out (not territorial) for them to meet off leash (to avoid any leash reactivity behavior). If they seem to get along fine, then the dog can roam our house freely as well. - If the dog is not friendly, I will use various size expens/gates to section/separate so they are comfortable. - If the dog is not friendly with cats, our cat will be sectioned to a separate part of the house than the dogs. - For the safety of the dog we prefer to crate train overnight when boarding. If needed we can keep the crates in the bedroom. Dog Walking: - If walking one dog I can focus on training with treats or toys, or I can let the dog expend energy with social sniffing. - I can transport dogs in my car to any location to walk, or walk a route near your home. - Timing is flexible based off my schedule and the exterior temperature. I will not walk dogs if the pavement is too hot for their paws (without proper preparation, ie booties/paw wax) - We also are part of the BAUM (Bay Area Urban Mushers) group and participate in canicross (canine cross country) and bikejoring (scooter or bikes with dogs pulling). I can bring your dog to certain events if they would like to learn to pull/mush. Cat Boarding: - Always introduce cats very slowly to a new environment. I start them in the office/kitten foster room, where they can decompress and get used to the new scents. - Until they are comfortable, I block off any hiding spots that are not reachable via arm's length (under couches/beds) - Once they are comfortable, they can meet my cat Asher or my dog Archie, through a gate in the doorway. If they are willing to approach and sniff the gate with the other animals, then they can explore the rest of the house. - I have a various assortment of cat trees and toys, catnip, cat condos, and new cat walls coming!

Information Chris N. would like to know about your pet

Please give detailed instructions for any required medications and feedings. Please note which treats and how many I can give during walks. For dog boarding or daycare, my preference is for dogs that are friendly with other dogs and tolerate presence of cats.

A typical day

We normally go on 2x 30 minute walks a day. On weekends we also can participate in urban mushing for high energy dogs, and I'm willing to bring your dog along if interested! Archie also does obedience training constantly, as well as agility.

Pet care experience

I grew up in a family with cats and dogs, and in 2015 we started fostering both dogs and kittens/cats. I also engage in TNR programs for community cats. We currently have 1 resident dog (Archie) and 1 resident cat (Asher) in our household, as well as fosters that rotate in occasionally. Our dog Archie has passed all obedience courses, and has some flyball and agility work. I can work on helping to train your dog too if interested.

It’s been awhile since we booked with Chris, and I’m happy to say that he is still the best cat sitter we’ve had. His visit summaries are always detailed, with lots of photos. Cooney loves the company, and he’s always willing to spend a little extra time with her if she still needs attention by the end of his visit. Can’t recommend him enough!

Chris is always amazing with Willow and Juno and goes above and beyond every time we are lucky enough to book a walk or drop in with him!

Perfect notes. He notices things about my cats they I don’t. My super-skitsch cats feel very comfortable around him and actually welcome pets from Chris. 10 stars!

Chris was amazing with our puppy August! He even took him on a walk with his doggo so he could practice pack walking, as well as other manners and obedience training during the walk. August thoroughly enjoyed his time with Chris and was able to take a good long nap afterward. August is already looking forward to his nest outing with Chris, thanks!
