Availability
I'm a teacher for the Anchorage School District, so pet care will be outside of my working hours. If your pet can remain happy at my home while I'm at work and they're okay with being alone for about 8 hours during the work day, they're welcome to stay with me. I'm available weekdays after 4 and weekends all day for at-home visits, dog walks, or other pet care. :)

Safety, trust & environment
I have a fenced in yard and one friendly, older doggo of my own part time. (Her fur-daddy and I have shared custody, two weeks on, two weeks off). I'm familiar with giving prescriptions and care to sick doggos, as mine has been on medication for years for her heart condition, and has needed physical therapy treatments after various surgeries. I'll gladly visit your home if your pet prefers to remain in her/her environment.

Information Chris K. would like to know about your pet
Is he/she friendly toward other dogs and/or cats or children? Is the dog potty trained? Who should I call in the event of an emergency, and who is your vet? What are the common command words used with that dog, and what type of training do the owners prefer to use? Does your dog training involve the use of an E-Collar? How reactive is the dog to certain triggers, like strangers approaching him/her, loud sounds, other dogs or animals, etc.? Does he/she have any known allergies? Does he/she suffer from separation anxiety, and if so, what has worked for this issue in the past with this doggo? How active is the dog? What are its favorite activities? Can he/she skijor? Does he/she have any known medical issues or need for medical care? Does he/she like to swim? What are her/his favorite toys? When does the dog prefer to be walked/adventured? When does the dog need to be fed? What odd quirks does the dog posses that would be important for a care-provider to know? Is the dog affectionate, or does it prefer to not be approached? The list goes on...
A typical day
If a dog needs to remain on-leash, my favorite places to go are North Bivouac, Point Woronzoff, or just in various neighborhoods. If a dog likes to really get out and will reliably return to people who aren't their owners, I'll take them up various dog-friendly peaks, like Little O'Malley, Flattop or any of those peaks on that ridge, or the Dome. Turnagain Arm can be a great trail if it's before the snow starts to potentially avalanche. There are so many amazing places to take dogs here in Anchorage!

Pet care experience
I absolutely love pets, and I'm willing to bend over backwards to please your pet! I've only ever owned two dogs of my own, but I've cared for and dog-sat for many a friend over the years. I have experience with taking care of senior dogs, my own included, who often require special physical therapy for recovery or medications.
Reviews

This was our first experience leaving Killian with someone. Chris was a perfect fit for him and we look forward to him having more time with her so we can travel!

Fisher loved his time with Chris! Hiking, walks and lots of snuggles. Thanks for providing a safe & fun place for us to keep our pup while we were away! We will absolutely be booking Chris again! :)

Pups came back happy and were very spoiled while staying over!
Chris has been a great and sensitive caregiver for my doggo. She's attentive to what he needs and keeps him safe on walks. She's kept him in her home and also come over for walks.
