Senior Dogs Rock
Background: I began walking dogs at no-kill shelters in Chicago and continued doing that when I moved to MN in 1999. My husband and I have adopted a total of 6 dogs from the HSUS over the past 15 years. My current pack of three range in age from 4 years - 8 years old. Our oldest dog lived to be almost 17 - a great dane, chesapeake bay retriever mix! From these pups, I have learned how vital a daily walk and play is- for both mind and body! Providing this opportunity for your pup has been one of the great joys of my life. I have a special fondness for senior dogs, though I love all dogs, of course! The breeds we have adopted include Great Dane/Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix, Sheltie/Golden retriever mix, Blue Heeler/Black Lab mix, Blue Heeler/Italian greyhound mix, Spaniel mix, & Catahoula! I can’t wait to meet you 😁 My work-style: Please note, in order to spend more time with my family, I tend to be off the grid between 8PM and 8AM. I do not expect you to match your work-style to mine. Please feel free to email at a time that is convenient to you, but realize that I will probably respond within the hours of 8AM and 8PM!

My top priority is the safety and well-being of the pets in my care. We have lots of fun on walks and during visits when your pets are comfortable and happy! The more information I have about them, the better I can care for them!

Best possible 1rst time experience! Chris worked wonders with our usually scared senior dog and took excellent care of him. Gunner never warms up so fast and clearly adores her and has done so well with her personality.

Schedule
I currently have some times available for walks - this tends to vary somewhat week to week. I try to be as flexible as possible to meet your schedules.

- How do you train your dog? What commands does she respond to? Is your dog reactive to any other dogs, situations or people? Is your dog food motivated? What is her daily routine? Has your pup ever jumped a fence? How did you get your dog back if he/she escaped? Is there a time he normally naps and a time he is normally active and interested in walking/playing? Has your dog had any medical incidents? Any surgeries, injuries, sore spots? Does your dog love strangers or is he more of an observer?
