Information Chris J. would like to know about your pet

Just any special needs. I doubt there would be anything that couldn't be found in the profile unless it was a recent thing like an injury, and that hasn't been updated in the profile.

A typical day

When first meeting a dog I like to get low and let them come to me. I also find that lying down in the grass gets them to come up to me in a playful and loving way. Then they are ready to burn some energy on a walk. I don't have any particular spots, I just like to make sure that it's an area where we don't have to worry as much about cars loudly revving their engine as that can be triggering for me and the dog.

Pet care experience

Everyone has always told me that dogs love me and I should work with dogs. I served in the Army until 2012, and I didn't know what to do with myself after I leaving. But I always found comfort and joy spending time with my friends and family's dogs. Some good friends, seeing how much one of their terriers loved me, offered to let me have her, and so in 2019 I got my first dog, Penny. She's been such a blessing. Now I look forward to spending more time with new dogs around Beaverton and Portland. I live on my own with my dog Penny in a one bedroom apartment in Beaverton. She is crate-trained and stays in there on nights that I work. To help make her crate more cozy, I lay out machine washable carpet, with a small blanket, a teddy bear and a rib bone for her to work on. With our free time, I take her for walks in a nature preserve near my apartment and fo to the dog park. We go to the mixed dog area and Penny is great with other dogs .

Chris loves all animals, instantly lights up when he sees a dog. He gets on their level and will play for hours with them. He’s patient and very attentive to their needs. I would highly recommend him!
