Pet care experience

Animal lover offering tons of care

I have about 2-3 years of professional experience pet-sitting, and I have cared for my own dog and neighbors’ dogs & cats for six years and take animal care very seriously! I’m reliable, observant, and always willing to research and follow instructions to provide loving, attentive care. With a huge passion for animals, I am highly motivated to provide the most safe and loving space for them. The animals are what fulfill and motivate me during my years of pet care, but also the owners. I can always feel how deeply pet parents love their animals, and I look at them with so much joy and love knowing they are someone’s world & happiness, and I love showing them how much their baby is loved, it’s what I feel is my purpose in this world.

Chloe was very communicative and easy to work with, however seemed to lack experience caring for cats specifically regarding expectations for litter box management.

I unfortunately cannot recommend Chloe and ultimately had to end the booking early and arrange alternative care for our dogs while we were out of the country. Before the booking, I clearly communicated the dogs’ care schedule, including when they needed to be taken outside. During the stay, there was an approximately 12-hour period during the daytime when the dogs were not taken outside to use the bathroom. Chloe later told me she had gone home to take a nap during that time. I also learned that Chloe had brought a person I did not know into my apartment. He was allowed to sleep on my couch for hours and, most concerningly, was left alone inside my apartment with our dogs while Chloe was not there. I hired Chloe to stay in my home and care for our pets. I did not authorize an unknown third party to be left unattended in my home with them. There were also issues with the condition of my apartment. Dirty dishes were left piled in my kitchen sink for multiple days, which was particularly concerning because I was away from home and wanted to avoid attracting pests. I eventually had to specifically address cleaning up after herself and not leaving food and dirty dishes sitting out. Communication regarding the dogs’ care was another significant issue. On one occasion, I asked Chloe to pick up dog food and pill poppers needed to administer medication. She told me she would pick them up “right now.” When I followed up later, I received no response, and another follow-up approximately 12 hours later also went unanswered. My friend subsequently messaged the same group chat regarding her dog’s medication and received a response. After multiple issues and increasing concerns about the dogs’ care, communication, and what was happening inside my home, I no longer felt comfortable allowing the booking to continue. I arranged alternative care and ended the stay early. Leaving your pets and home in someone else’s care requires an enormous amount of trust, especially when you are traveling internationally and cannot simply come home if something goes wrong. Unfortunately, this experience caused me to completely lose that trust. Based on my experience, I would not entrust Chloe with my pets or access to my home again.

0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
41 to 100 lbs
Chloe can host up to 3 walks per day
I have no specific preference with dogs, but I’d appreciate to know beforehand if your dog has any special needs so that I can properly prepare for them and provide the care they need. I may need a couple of reminders and/or a paper sheet full of instructions as someone with a learning disability.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
