I come from a large family filled with a variety of pet animals (including dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters and fish) and have received a lot of hands on experience, where I have thrived off caring and playing with them. I am extremely passionate about all animals and I am a very caring, empathetic and confident person. I pride myself in the ability to learn quickly and perform tasks efficiently and to the best of my ability. My previous pet dog had severe arthritis, dementia and health problems for many years. I helped care for him and make his life as comfortable as possible in his times of need, whilst still encouraging him to have fun and play. After his death, we gained a young Berdoodle (St Bernard cross Poodle) dog. Training him has been so different from others due to his incredibly large size but has been so rewarding. I believe the most important aspects of pet sitting, is to keep them entertained, either by taking them on a walk, playing with them or stroking them. It is important to prevent the pet feeling separation anxiety by distracting them as much as possible. Meanwhile, I think it is essential to respect the owner’s way of training and routine and follow this as similarly as possible. This includes, mealtimes, walk times and desired behaviour from the pet.
