Before our first booking I'll ask for your pet's daily routine (potty and feeding times), your veterinarian's contact info, and the nearest emergency vet. Beyond the essentials, tell me anything and everything you think matters — no detail is too small: favorite toys, commands, fears, comfort routines, quirks. I use a short pet-information form covering medications, behavior, and feeding so nothing gets missed. For pets on medication: please have the prescription label or dosing schedule handy at our meet & greet — I record exact doses and times so everything is given precisely as your vet intended. And if your dog has any triggers (other dogs, storms, the vacuum, being touched somewhere sore), I want to know before it ever comes up on a walk.

A typical day with your pet starts with lots of love and a longer morning walk before the Houston heat kicks in. Back inside, it's treat time (if allowed) and fresh water — I'm a total stickler for clean bowls at every feeding. Midday means another potty break or play session, but I always test the pavement temperature first; sometimes we stick to the grass, since heat illness in dogs is way too easy to overlook down here. For fun during the day, expect fetch, pup cups, and plenty of playtime for dogs; and wand toys, bird watching, and cozy lap time for cats. Evenings wind down with their feeding routine, one last walk, couch snuggles, and watching a movie or tv show together before bed. Most importantly, I'll stick to your pet's normal routine. My own dog Marley gets her medication and soaked food every evening so we reduce the risk of choke, as she is medically complex, so personalized care is second nature to me.
