Pet care experience

Bring on the cuties! 🐶

Hi! My name is Chinwe-- I also go by CJ :) I am an RN who currently works part time. Over the past 10 years, I have taken care of cats and dogs over night with instructions from friends and family members and I have really enjoyed it! I always keep treats on hand, I try to send as many pictures and videos as possible, and I always reach out with questions since I know every pet is different.

CJ was an awesome sitter! Communication was great—we got lots of updates and photos. Our dog, Rocky, got lots of snuggles and adventures (pretty sure he had way more fun with CJ and her boyfriend than he does at home with us 😂). We were able to relax on vacation knowing that Rocky was well cared for. Would definitely book again.

Chinwe has a great attitude and is easy to work with. My shy toy poodle, Coco, opened up to her quickly and enjoyed her timely and cheerful check-ins. The pictures she provided during the daily report cards exceeded our expectations and went a long a way in giving us piece of mind that Coco was cared for during our time away.

Lacked responsiveness. Showed up late when I came to drop off my dog. Got the sense that she wasn't with our dog for very much time every day due to other obligations. In fact we got extremely scarce picture updates at late hours and had to prompt for updates since she never proactively sent any. Lastly, and I don't say this lightly, literally everything, including our dog, that we sent to her during boarding, her doggy bag, leash, toys, came back to us smelling like absolute ASS. We had to get our dog groomed the next day she smelled absolutely like death. I don't know what happened but it was crazy. I had to replace all of her stuff because the smell WOULD NOT COME OUT. We have had many rovers over the last 3 years. This was one of the very few piss-poor experiences I've had unfortunately.

Safety, trust & environment

I am sure to follow directions and ask questions if I am ever unclear. I also understand the amount of trust placed on sitters to take care of your home and your fur baby so I, of course, treat both the clients’ home and pets with respect. When I am boarding a pet, I do require a cage or crate where they can safely stay in case I am cleaning around my apartment, need to pop out for a bit, or am in a work meeting. I always like to have eyes on the pets and prefer to have them somewhere where I know they will be safe!

Pets

A typical day

On a typical day, I would wake up and take a dog on a walk then feed them. There are two fenced in dog parks in my building with turf! In the afternoon, I like to try and play fetch or tug and if I have time on my lunch breaks, I will take pets to the dog park to get out their zoomies. In the evenings, it will likely be meal time again and I will walk them around my neighborhood. If approved by the pet parent, I will sometimes take a special trip to starbucks and get pup cups for pets or take a nice stroll by the inner harbor-- there is so much to smell over there!

I like to know about any fears when it comes to thunder/rainstorms and if any precautions need to be taken. I also like to know about leash behavior-- just knowing if I can expect tugging or chasing after squirrels, cars, other dogs, or bikes (lol) so I can be sure to have the most secure grip during walks. Even the small things are good to know, like tricks they can do, their favorite toy, or how they prefer meals to be served. The more information the better!
