Pet care experience

Arrange quality pet care now! ♡

Animals have always been at the heart of my life. I have more than a decade of hands-on pet care experience and run a small, insured, family-operated pet care business locally. I treat every animal as if they were my own and believe pets deserve patient, respectful, individualized care in an environment where they can feel safe and comfortable. My approach is calm, observant, and intuitive. Years of working with animals have taught me to pay close attention to body language, behavior, routines, and emotional cues rather than expecting every pet to adapt to the same style of care. I have experience with puppies, senior pets, special-needs animals, multi-pet households, and pets who need a little extra time and patience to settle into a new environment. My goal with boarding is to provide a comfortable, home-based alternative to a traditional kennel. Visiting dogs become part of our household during their stay while still having their individual routines, boundaries, feeding schedules, and needs respected. Safety is always my first priority, and introductions and interactions between animals are handled thoughtfully. This is a family-run business. My teens, Connor and Allison, have grown up alongside my pet care work and have been helping me for many years. They are experienced and comfortable with feeding, routines, safe handling, playtime, and general pet care. They may occasionally assist with boarding, visits, arrivals, or departures. I remain responsible for all bookings and overall care, and clients are always welcome to discuss any preferences regarding their involvement beforehand. I also work outside of my pet care business Monday through Thursday, so weekday arrival, departure, and transportation times are scheduled around my work hours. My family-run setup gives me additional flexibility, and I do my best to accommodate clients whenever possible, but specific midday transportation or appointment times may not always be available. I am happy to coordinate timing in advance so everyone knows exactly what to expect. Clear communication is extremely important to me. I want you to be able to enjoy your time away knowing your pet is safe, comfortable, loved, and in experienced hands. I am always happy to discuss routines, quirks, concerns, special instructions, or anything else that will help your pet have the best stay possible. Whether you need boarding, house sitting, or drop-in care, my goal is simple: provide dependable, compassionate care and give you genuine peace of mind while your pet is with me. Transportation: Free boarding transportation is available within Kalkaska Village limits. Transportation outside that area may be available for an additional fee and must be arranged in advance. Availability and timing depend on my work schedule and travel distance. 1–2 pets only.

Cheyenne really helped us out as we were visiting the area and wanted a dog free day to bike around Mackinac Island. She agreed to take our dogs for the day and an overnight. It worked out perfect and we appreciated her flexibility!

Safety is my number one concern! Your pets will feel right at home here. Many clients ask about my cat; she is very reclusive, so your pets will most likely never see her.

Pets

A typical day

I live in a lovely neighborhood, perfect for walks! My husky is very friendly, playful, and loves having friends over. Both my husky and my cat are fully vetted and up-to-date on all vaccinations. My children love pets and are very respectful, understanding boundaries, and not encouraging bad behaviors. Your furbaby will be welcomed with open arms by our whole family and will feel right at home.

Knowing the weight, age, and favorite activities of your animal can help me provide the best care I can for your pooch! I would love to know your dogs preferred pace and/or activities he/she enjoys inside and outdoors. Is your pup trained to walk a certain way? Does he/she need more practice? If your pup is a puller, does he/she use special tools i.e. Gentle leader, harness etc.?
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
