Pet care experience

Seasoned Veterinary Assistant

My mother and grandmother were both veterinary technicians, so I spent my summers in the veterinary clinics and knew that was where I was meant to be. I grew up not only taking care of our family pets, but also house sitting/pet sitting/and farm sitting for all of our family friends. As an adult I have been a veterinary assistant for 6 years. I am Fear Free Certified. I was the shift lead and supervisor at an Animal Emergency Clinic in Knoxville TN for one year, I worked as an assistant in the ophthamology department at an AHA certified hospital in Asheville NC for one year, and otherwise have worked in a general practice clnic. I am well equipped with the knowledge and skills to take care of any pet in any circumstance. I perform nail trims, anal gland expressions, ear cleanings and medical baths on both dogs and cats on a regular basis as part of my job as well. Since I have to handle pets that are in a more stressful environment and/or potentially in pain, I have learned pet behavior and developed many tools to help them feel as at ease as possible without injuring themselves or others. I am extremely passionate about taking care of our fur babies and making sure they're not only healthy, but happy too!

Safety, trust & environment

I am very comfortable with giving injections, such as insulin, as well as giving both liquid and tablet medications to both dogs and cats who have medical conditions. I have been through special trainings for animal CPR and first aide as well as performed CPR and provided first aide and triage care for animals throughout my career. I am well versed in caring for pets who have special needs and a wide variety of personalities! I am always willing to meet your pet where they are at whether that be space or lots of cuddles or some serious play time and walks!

We couldn't have found a better person to care for our sweet girl while we were gone on family vacation! Cheyennes communication was outstanding and she was always prompt with sending updates and lots of pictures. She treated our kitty like her own with lots of attention and cuddles while we were away. This was exactly what we were looking for - so glad we found Cheyenne and she will definitely be our go to!

Cheyenne took care of my kitty while I was away having surgery. She was so thoughtful, and I felt at ease knowing she was caring for Frances. She even double checked some house things like my ceiling fan while I was away!

We couldn’t have found a better person to care for our sweet boys while we were away for the weekend. Cheyennes communication was amazing, she was so involved and gave the boys all the love they needed while we were away. She will be our #1 from here on out!

Cheyenne was absolutely amazing. She was punctual, sent me updates, took lots of pictures, and overall put me at complete ease with leaving Arlo with her and her son, Ezra. I would recommend her to anyone! 5 stars truly isn’t enough!

Cheyenne helped care for my cat with some last minute changes to medication and schedule. She was flexible and understanding, especially during the holiday season.

I am currently a day care teacher so I work from 8am until 5pm Monday through Friday. I am available most weekends and stay active on my time off so I never mind walking or playing with pets before or after work.

My toddler is with me while my husband is at work. There may be times that I will need to bring him along with me, he will be in his stroller or carrier while in anyone's home or on a walk, but I do want to make sure that your fur baby will be okay around my toddler. If not, that is okay! I will make sure to keep them separated or try to find other accommodations. It is just nice to have a heads up! I would also like to know any special needs that your fur baby requires, their likes and dislikes, and any special routine, rules, or commands that they may have.
